Q: Your press release indicates that Black Shark is the first in a series of DCS modules, with more aircraft/helicopters to follow. How soon will these new aircraft become available?

A: We are already developing the A-10A “Warthog" and AH-64A “Apache” (with planned front-seat / back-seat multiplayer) and other western and eastern aircraft will follow with an approximate interval of every nine months. To announce these later aircraft now would be premature because plans can often change and lead to delays due to numerous factors such as our work in the equally important military simulation market.

Is this still in the cards ED? Not asking for a release date or even any details, but it would be nice to know if this is even still being considered or not. So how about it?

I need, I need, I need... What about my wants? QuickSilver original.

These titles are listed in the chronological order I purchased them.

It was there a long time ago. My guess is the Apache was going to be a module based on data ED had acquired but was not an active project for the military. Then the A-10C DTS came along and it got pushed to the backburner. Possibly the new US Jet they are going to model for the next module may also be tied to a defense contract of some sorts. Hence why it is being pushed ahead of the Apache. If they are going to have to create a DTS for the military it's alot easier to port that over to an entertainment product rather than work on that and try to produce an Apache module as well.

I think it might still be released someday, I mean they modelled the ah-64 cockpits beautifully, it would be sad to let their hard work go. Maybe after the f-18c. :D

My friend suggested they make DCS Lightcycle (TRON).......... He needs a DCS Kick To The Nuts.

Carry on... nothing to see here. Wait till us fighter guys get our DCS fix, then snoop for old clues :)

I agree tho, a fast mover needs to be next.

See that's what gets me about the speculation for an F/A-18C. It's an old, antiquated and utterly obsolete heap of shit - why would the DOD suddenly want to pay for a computer-based training simulator for it? It would be like doing an F-15C dedicated sim - they're getting mothballed so why make a sim about it? Only reason I could think is it's a non-US contract, or they're just doing one for fun this time around.

I think it is pretty commonly established and confirmed that DCS Fastmover is next. This is NOT a post to push an agenda to have DCS Apache come out next. I am just curious to know IF it is still on the table that is all. That is why I specifically stated I was not asking for a release date or any details.

I think it is safe to say that ED are planning/announcing the immediate future, and for the distant future they will look at it when they are there.

Right now it is looking like from what has been posted in the forums:

- A-10C Hotfix

- A-10C Patch

- A-10C Nevada Map and Extras

- Ka-50 compatibility patch with A-10C

- FC2 possible DCS-A10C compatibility patch

- DCS: US Fixed Wing

Of course all are subject to change I imagine.

A fair assessment using common sense!
