cichlidfan Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 The 'me' in game shows nice auto-AI My favorite is the one where I landed nicely, for me, at Sukhomi and the guy in the track made a similar but less nice landing about a quarter mile to the right of the runway. Username455 Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 just like to add that tracks are hit and miss for me as well, in either the 32 bit or 64 bit version. Some tracks playback perfectly, in any view, with facetracknoir running. Others show me shooting my guns into the ground and crashing. I had 1 pretty awesome flight (for me atleast :) ) but the track is completely different unfortunately. And that, in a nutshell, is the most frustrating part about this. I am still learning what most here would call the basics so I like to see what I did wrong or, on that rare occasion, right. Not to mention just the pure enjoyment of a really cool track!! I am also wondering if, since I save the tracks, the tracks are good, it is just the replays that are caused to be bad. Something else to test. The more I think about it, I am almost certain that the original track should be good. There really is no reason for it not to be...Tacview is using the same set of data more or less I would guess. Iceman2011 Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 Yea... hmmm. trks are very small files, so if you have some cool track and it doesn't work now. Save it and pray that "trk reader" gets unbugged and they work later on - that is in case trk ok - but reading the data is broken
Username455 Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 Well I did a quick test, maybe someone can confirm. If you view a track with headtracking (facetracknoir for me) the track will work until you change views. I saved the track first, then viewed straight from the debriefing page. However you won't see where you were looking during your flight since you control the view. When I switched views to external my track took a different course and ended with me flying into the ground. Then I went to replays and loaded the same track. Before it started loading I stopped facetracknoir. Here I could see all the switches I pressed, all the head movements I made, and all the camera changes. The only thing that didn't work was when I got shot down and had to respawn, cockpit view was stuck zoomed in on the front panels. So maybe someone can confirm that tracks work with headtracking enabled as long as you don't change views, and also they should work with headtracking disabled before the track starts. I had not pinned the issue on TIR but the changing of view seems to be an issue. I was having problems before I got the tracker but then we are on a different patch. I will give it a try. Iceman2011 Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 Headtracking software isn't the main problem, I had these similar problems without TIR, but view changing generally seems to affect things.
Snoopy Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 Changing views doesn't cause issues for me, in fact most of my videos I use others track files to make. v303d Fighter Group Discord | Virtual 303d Fighter Group Website
Nate--IRL-- Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 It seems to me that moving the View to an external view - overriding the tracks recorded views - will have some cockpit/HOTAS functions not playback correctly. It is on the list. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
lobo Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 Been practicing an airshow demo routine. Got a track of one that I was happy with, nice landing, taxi off runway etc. did not hit anything... Replayed track and everything was good until landing when it showed me clipping a truck (which explodes) and then landing in the grass to the side of runway and getting stuck... Definately a problem with the replay system. I was changing the external views.
