MadTommy Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 (edited) Operation Gander NB: There appears to be a problem with the selectable scenario versions.. that is not obvious.. So i have removed them until i figure it out. Single Player seems unaffected. UPDATE: Found the problem.. downloads removed while i fix it.. New versions up shortly. Apologies to anyone who has downloaded it & had issues... You should dump 1.0 and use 1.1 when i post it. Consider this a self contained mission pack! In this one mission, of which there are 3 versions, I have tried to provide a great range of tasks, threats & opportunities and complete freedom on how it is flown. It is a CAS mission. Primarily designed as a MP coop but i have also included a SP version, where you get 3 wingmen. Both version are within the same mission. i.e the one file can be used as MP or SP. With its random threat and task environment it is designed to be played numerous times without becoming stale. Explanation different of versions: * Removed *Op_Gander_1.0.miz - Spring, decent weather, MP coop10 & SP * Removed * Op_Gander_1.0_(WinterWeather).miz - Winter, challenging weather, MP coop10 & SP (Normally windy with significant cloud cover, not overcast) Op_Gander_1.0_(absent_host).miz - Spring, decent weather, MP coop10 & SP designed for absent server host (i.e no F10 interaction menu). Use this version if you do not have a flying server host or you want the scenario to be random and hidden from you. MP & SP. (or you are having problems with the F10 radio bug in MP. Difficulty very much depends on how you approach the mission and how many wingmen you have. But generally due to the mountainous terrain its pretty tough. Features:MP & SP MP; 10 player coop. SP; 3 wingmen Dynamic weather Tanker refuelling. (suitable for practise or tactical refuelling) Numerous AFAC flights. (suitable for Bullseye Offset & Jtac practise) Random threat environment. Server host/ SP player can choose 1 of 4 mission scenarios. (via F10 radio menu) - Absent server host version, were scenario is randomly selected & AFAC & SEAD flights happen automatically. On call SEAD & AFAC flights can be called as needed from radio menu. (Server host or SP only) No time constraints, suitable as a Join in Progress mission. Priority tasks will be repeated every 10 minutes until completed. Each scenario has 4 primary tasks. AFAC can provide numerous extra tasks. Mountainous terrain, practise your 'nap of earth' flying. Requirements:Ability to use CDU to make Lat/Long waypoint creation. Ability to use CDU to use Bulls offset target acquisition This was a complicated mission to make, and testing all scenarios is extremely difficult. Many many hours of flying would be needed and I've done my best to error check it. The methods and trigger logic I've used are well tested, so i hope there are no significant issues with the triggers etc. But please post any issues you come across and i'll fix them asap. Feel free to edit the mission, BUT beware there are many interdependent triggers, a small change could easily break the mission. AND please keep the essence of the file name as is but make it clear it is an edited version. The mission has NO locked settings, but 99% of units are hidden. No scripts have been used. BBQ Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Need a little clarification--BTW, single player here. Why are some of radio freq's the same? Or can they be? I was able to see JTAC on AM radio--and tanker--so I guess it's no problem? Also--I chose scenario number 1--how do I know which if that scenario is for area 1, 2, or 3? Finally, how do you call in SEAD? I didn't see anything available in the F10/Other menu (after choosing a scenario). Thanks for any reply!
MadTommy Posted June 15, 2011 Author Posted June 15, 2011 (edited) Its quite possible to have numerous flights on the same frequency.. Tanker & AWACS are on one radio (VHF) and all SEAD & AFAC (and others) are on another (UHF). When contacting AFAC.. you can speak to several individually on one frequency. This allows you to listen to all AFAC & SEAD comms at the same time so you don't miss any offset target info. (remember if the comms become a little annoying you have a volume button for each radio!! Use it :) ) Also--I chose scenario number 1--how do I know which if that scenario is for area 1, 2, or 3? Finally, how do you call in SEAD? I didn't see anything available in the F10/Other menu (after choosing a scenario). Thanks for any reply! All zones will be utilised by all scenarios. If you cross the boarder anywhere in the operations area you should have no trouble finding targets :P SEAD & extra AFAC will be available once airborne.. you will receive a message letting you know when this happens. But a AFAC flight will automatically take off before you are airbourne.. MadTommy Posted June 15, 2011 Author Posted June 15, 2011 NB: There appears to be a problem with the selectable scenario versions.. that is not obvious.. So i have removed them until i figure it out. The one version left has all the same elements, you just not in control of the SEAD & AFAC flight timings. Sorry about this. IT IS STILL GOOD FOR SINGLE PLAYERS. i5-3570K @ 4.5 Ghz, Asus P8Z77-V, 8 GB DDR3, 1.5GB GTX 480 (EVGA, superclocked), SSD, 2 x 1680x1050, x-fi extreme music. BBQ Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 I'm having no trouble with it--and yeah, got the SEAD message after I was airborne for awhile. My only suggestion would be to put SEAD and AFAC on one of the VHF (AM or FM) radios--as for us single player peeps, we'll have to setup UHF preset channels and have to switch back and forth to communicate with our flight, and then to the AFAC/SEAD. Should I download the updated version RE: scenarios?
MadTommy Posted June 15, 2011 Author Posted June 15, 2011 Yeah, I did consider what you say about FM & AM, but i only tend to use FM for ground forces JTAC as it has a limited range (apparently) and my understanding is AM is used for air to air comms. Thanks for the feedback, and i'll review the radios usage. Regarding the version problem.. if you are not having an issue with the taskings appearing, which is the issue i encountered then you needed worry about it... I only had problems in MP and might only be affecting MP, thinking about it this is very likley. If i verify this i'll add the other versions back as SP only for the time being. i5-3570K @ 4.5 Ghz, Asus P8Z77-V, 8 GB DDR3, 1.5GB GTX 480 (EVGA, superclocked), SSD, 2 x 1680x1050, x-fi extreme music. HiJack Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Great MadTommy! Will try the mission next weekend :D
MadTommy Posted June 16, 2011 Author Posted June 16, 2011 I found a problem, important one. I've removed the files while i fix it. I had two triggers firing at the same time causing unreliable results.. this has been fixed. I'm also tweaking & improving it. Version will be 1.1. Version 1.0 is bugged. i5-3570K @ 4.5 Ghz, Asus P8Z77-V, 8 GB DDR3, 1.5GB GTX 480 (EVGA, superclocked), SSD, 2 x 1680x1050, x-fi extreme music. TM Warthog, Saitek combat pro pedals, TrackIR 4

MadTommy Posted July 9, 2011 Author Posted July 9, 2011 Sorry, I've been very short on time recently, and this mission has turned into a bit of a nightmare. I've managed to get a 2 decent size test run over the last couple of weeks & i hope to fix the issues asap. But in all honesty I've tried to do to much within one mission, the fing AI are doing my head in... they are so unreliable in MP and my trigger system is simply over complicated.. lessons have been learnt. But when testing it has been fun to fly and 95% working well.. just fixing the little issues is a major head ****. I'll see if i can release it this weekend. i5-3570K @ 4.5 Ghz, Asus P8Z77-V, 8 GB DDR3, 1.5GB GTX 480 (EVGA, superclocked), SSD, 2 x 1680x1050, x-fi extreme music.
