I was diggin through my box of old flight stuff and came across this controller. It is simular to the thrustmaster mfd. But it is a much older generation...I cannot find the software to program it. I have an older system that can program it. I know that the bus speed cannot be any faster than 66mhz...think 486 era...but I am told that it will work on the new systems as it is really only a keyboard emulator type of device. It plugs in between the keyboard and computer.

There are photos on several sites of this device.

Does anyone have this software??? The company is long gone. They have a programming module on amazon but it still needs the original software.

Thanks. :helpsmilie:

Just throw out all electronic devices exept buttons and insert M-Joy or any other controller.

I've remake my own with X-52's controller. (don't remember exactly, something from saitek).

MasterPilot QuickShot Controller

If I understand Necroscope, he advises to just use the buttons and not use the paddle switch. He says to plug in a controller of any sort and use it as such. The buttons will not respond when I use my x-52. The lights work indicating that they are energized but I cannot see key push indication. The buttons will not respond even without a joystick..as this device is positioned between the keyboard and computer.

Anyway if someone has the software I would really like to get it.

Thanks,

Hm... I mean "take a screwdriver, open MasterPilot QuickShot controller, takeout all circuit boards, cut all wires, cut all buttons contacts from main (lower) board. Take any controller - M-Joy or any other stuffing from inside of any modern joystick, solder all wires from QuickShot to new controller. Assemble everything in one piece.

Now you have the MasterPilot QuickShot controller wich works with software from donor joystick."

As far as I remember - there no possibility to use this device as is on modern PCs with modern operation systems. More to say - you need programming module to add anything into cartrige.

Seem to remember that the Masterpilot's were just a keyboard extender, they were chained together with the keyboard. The programing module didn't work with faster computers.. There was a beta program by Dr. James Hallows of Fox 3 fame, "Master Pilot Programer" that allowed programing of the module, but you needed the "slower" bus machine to load it.

The simple solution is Thrustmasters MFD's...

Actually, Masterpilot Programmer is the name of the hardware for programming the cartridge.

Dr. Hallows program is called Fox Three. You can read about it and obtain it at: http://www.flyfoxy.com/fox3.html

Note that the page was last updated in 2002.

Yes..Thrustmaster mfd's,,But not if you want to Play the older games with MFD'S..Like Jane's USAF,etc...For this you may need the older Quickshot Masterpilot..Please correct me if I am wrong..Thank you!!

Thrustmaster MFD work with newer games ..Quickshot Masterpilot work with older games like Jane's Usaf...you may use Thrustmaster MFD with Jane's F-18 but not Jane's USAF..Correct me if I am wrong..Please..

Masterpilot! Ohhh..... Memories come into my mind... Good stuff a long time ago!

Today I'd go the way Necroscope already suggested:

Rip everything out and connect it to MMJoy.

If anyone needs one:

I have an unmodified one for sale. Just PM.

Yes I know about that one, but 60$ i just too much for it.

BTW I connected MasterPilot with PS/2 to USB adapter and it works, so there is not need for modding. It is basically a keyboard in shape of MFD. I used this adapter:

I am looking for QS-5601 programmer, if you have it and if you are willing to sell please send me a PM.
