My new rig is arriving this week, i'm on a tight schedule and need to know how much time I need to set aside to get things up and running, this includes: x-52 pro, combat pedals, track IR 5, speakers, headset, gaming keyboard and gaming mouse, and of course BS, thanks in advance.

depends on your experience. If you never assembled one you might take 3 days. With experience maybe 1 day.

Thats what I needed to know, I have a friend with a similar system, and as time is short he can sort the main stuff out, thank you.

If you know what you are doing, you can probably set it up in 3-5 hours. What takes time is the software.

Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two.

Agreed with Sobek. I always get a little disappointed when building a new machine because it's over so quick, and the building is the one thing I enjoy the most (well, second to selecting the parts, which is something I can spend months planning :P). Getting software, updates, drivers and all of that crap handled isn't as fun though - it sort of feels like standing on a production line and just going through the motions, and takes even longer than the fun bit. :(

Agree 1 to 3 hours to assemble and at at least 3 to 5 hours for softwares with all updates and blah blah.

Count a day and your in, pissed and sleepy. (soft instalation and updates are a PITA.)

Agreed, a couple hours to assemble, then the slow tedious stuff begins, of course slow is becoming faster than it used to be!

Now days I try to build a disk ahead of time with everything I will need on it...but there is always something I forget about!:(

The worst for me is all the little environment tweaks that I have made over time and tend to forget about. It's always a while before the new machine feels like home.;)
