combatace
I have recently started flying Ka-50 and just wanted to know if we can detect targets at night or not in shkval. And if yes how can we do that? PS: I know about NVG but thats for me not the shkval. EtherealN
Moved the thread for you to the right section. Answer is yes, if there's enough ambient light for you, or if there are other assets providing illumination. 159th_Viper
Hmm so it can't detect in complete darkness. No - the Kamov is not night-vision capable. Illum rockets are used to great effect in Night Operations: Light them up, blow them up, retreat, setup and repeat. Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career? bogusheadbox
Well to be brutally honest, You can use it to a degree at night time with NVG and altering the Shkval brightness and contrast you will be able to make out shapes at distance. Not enough to positively identify, but you can spot them. You won't get a lock, but if they are stationary you can keep your laser on them manually and get a kill. It takes a keen eye and a bit of a slight touch and some fiddle with the schkval, but it can be done. Its not a great option, and as everyone else said, its best to use illumination.
