Noob needs help

Firstly i like to say hi to everyone.

I have just started playing DCS A10C literally 4 days ago and im liking it, been into sims since Arma:gun_sniper: and need something challenging and oh boy did i get what i was hoping for.

 

Now onto the problems, when i start the start up procedure which was a pain to learn, when i get the hud up after bit test there is no level indicator which you use to level out on the hud ladder, i must be pressing the wrong buttons :ermm:(sorry i don't know many terms for these things)

I'm not really sure what you are asking.... The only level indicator that you adjust manually is the SAI after you uncage it.. It's basically useless anyway...

 

After you run the bit test- you use the UFC rockers to exit twice to HUD's main menu- then turn on the IFFCC switch to put the hud into the main flight mode- with the pitch ladder, etc.. There's a link in my signature to an EZ start up procedure..

You need to make sure you are at full INS alignment (T=4.0 0.8 in CDU align page). Then, switch to NAV mode on CDU align page.

 

Now go to the front cockpit panel just in front of the stick, and switch from HARS mode, to EGI mode.

 

Your TVV should now be visible in your HUD.

Its the little airplane symbol on the HUD. It indicates the direction of travel of your aircraft.

That can only be changed in the Mission Editor. On the Briefing pane, upper right corner.

 

If you use the instant mission generator you can choose... if you just want to look at the nice sunset :thumbup:

...forgot: Use "save as" when messing with missions so you don't break something.

Ehm, when it comes to flying at night, the NVS goggles are switched with "RShift+h" :D

Be happy not to live in germany we have ancient accents where they say: "quarter eight" and what they mean is the first quarter of the eigth hour which is...? Right 07:15!!!

 

EDIT: the actual german term is "Viertel acht" of course, the above is the closest translation I came up with...
