latearrival Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 Great set of instructions and a video on LGB employment here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=75876 Windows 10 | i5 2500k @ 4.4Ghz | MSI GTX 970 4GB | 8GB RAM | ASRock P67 Extreme4 | Seasonic X-Series 650W PSU | Oculus Rift DK2 | CH Fighterstick, Throttle & Pedals
Baggy MacDouche Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 I'm trying to remember if auto-lase works even if you don't have the laser set to latch in the TGP. Could that be it. I always set it to latch anyway. MTFDarkEagle Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Yes, latching is independent of weapon profile. Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread
django333 Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Or you could just hold the pinky button on the stick (nose wheel steering button) to fire the laser.
mark35444 Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Is the TGP the SPI? you might be Lasing the Steerpoint rather than the target perhaps...... Migo Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 my gbu laser guided bombs not tracking in ccrp even though i have auto lase on with lase duration of 10seconds... any ideas? Sounds how it should be done. When I was new to this I selected the weapons in the DSMS with the OSBs and then edited the profile directly, but that is only temporary and when you deselect the weapon the profile is gone. Always go with the profile page and choose the right weapon profile there. But maybe you're already doing this.
MTFDarkEagle Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Is the TGP the SPI? you might be Lasing the Steerpoint rather than the target perhaps...... Off course you mean the SOI :) Also: the laser is firing where the TGP is looking at, regardless of your SPI. Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread
hawk2495 Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Here's my question, you have auto lase set to 10 seconds, what's your weapon's flight time to target? If it's more than 10 seconds, then the laser shuts off before the bomb even gets close and it just starts to wobble. Try setting auto lase to 20 or 25 seconds and repeat the attack run. Just a thought. Why is the rum always gone!?!?!?!

Just a thought. Lase time is "time to target", not "time from deployment". A 10 second lase time means the laser activates 10 seconds before impact. If you set your lase time too long, you increase your chances of falling short of the target, as the LGB will try to fly a flat trajectory to it, losing energy along the way.
