Since the A10 Beta has been out I haven't used blackshark. Today I thought I would dust it off to see if I could still fly the bird. However when starting the mission I got a message saying

"unable to run the application. The product license was deactivated on thie computer"

I generated the error report (attached to this post) but I cant re-activate the product, my serial number no longer works!

What is more the DCS web site no longer shows any purchaces against my username! I have bought copies of LOMAC, FC2 Blackshark and A10 but none of the serial numbers are displayed on the 'payments' page any more.

What the hell is going on.

Such a shame that the only really good flight sims are crippled by this shoddy protection.

 

PLEASE could some one help be get blackshark up and running again.

Error reads exactly: Error, license was deactivated

 

Have you tried to activate it? Eg. with bin\x86\stable\protect.exe

 

As for the web site, that's due to merging of 3 user data bases on December 24. It will be sorted out in your ticket.

The problem is that the protect.exe wont allow me to activate the program, it just comes up with the following error:

'Unable to run the application. The product license was deactivated on this computer.

To obtain an error report and send it to product technical support, press the corresponding button.'

Have you deleted the registry entry and thereafter attempted to activate again? If not, do so and see if you can activate thereafter.

Are you 100% sure it actually used an activation? As in, have you logged in to the StarForce site with your key and checked? I've changed RAM several times on all computers I've had and it has never cost me an activation.

 

It has caused the activation prompt once or twice, at which point I fill in my key, initiate activation, and the server returns with a "nevermind" message and does not deduct an activation. (The prompt was triggered by hardware change, program talks to the server, server says "hey, that's bull, why you disturbing me over something that small?" and then the program lets you go on.)

Viper, thanks for the advice, deleting the key worked, Blackshark is working again. However I only have one activation left now :cry:.

In any event - barring hardware changes and the like which will trigger a further activation, it is likely to last a while. If you are going to upgrade or the like, be sure to deactivate. Might also be prudent to, if you are planning/expect to burn another activation, contact ED via a support ticket and request further activations. As far as I am aware, reasonable requests for further activations, obviously dependant on the individual circumstances, have never been refused.

When you spend your last activation, from what I understand, they may issue you a new key. Thats why you need to wait until you spent your final activation.

And indeed, almost down at 0 myself for Blackshark. ;)
