Hi,

I'm one of those people who like to make videos and 'screen shot' art with sims like this, and this seems like one of the most perfect sims for that. But, I have a question. I have seen a few videos where they have moved the free camera to almost right next to the ground such as this one:

. An example is the 1:13 mark. However, when I try to do it in the sim, I can't go any lower than about canopy level, it just won't go any lower. How exactly does one get that angle?

Im not sure but trying setting up in ME a solider that moves (wp's) at airport or wherever select him at cntrl +f11 to be at his height aka 6ft above ground ather than 14ft aka canopy.

To get the camera down low you need to remove the terrain restriction.

Go to this folder...C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS A-10C\Config\View

and edit, with Notepad++, the server.lua file,

Change this line, it is near the top of the file,

CameraTerrainRestriction = true

so that is reads false where it currently says true.

This will allow you to move the camera down to and below the ground.

Old post, but I'm curious how they got camera views in that video from 3:11 to about 3:19. I have a feeling I just haven't found the right commands or speed settings but I can't do a realistic camera strafe or linear pan (not perfectly sure how to describe it). There is another video of the F-15C where they got an outstanding pan past two planes in formation.
