Despite of the CTDs in the version Beta 4b the mission gives a lot of pleasure. Very atmospheric. Lot of fun yesterday :)

Ah and .. Happy new year :)

Updated file to DCS User Files yesterday on DCS site, just waiting admin re-approval.

Been two days, how long does it usually take to re-approve an edit file in the User Files section? Use to be about 24 hours.

Lol I know. Hmmmmm need a script to yank people out of the cockpit right to the court marshal.

Possible if the missions was made by slmod. Units killed by function. Then you can set to explode the friendly killing aircraft. Very fun.

Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing

Is there something different on this mission regarding the viewpoint? Because everytime i start this mission my customised viewpoint (UFC on bottom of main screen) is set back to default. It only happens in this mission. :huh:

Yes, it's because there is a "config/views/snapviews.lua" file in the mission package. You can open the .miz file with your unpack - software (7zip will do, looks like the .miz file is a .rar) and delete that whole folder to get your views back.

I know it's been a while since anyone's posted in this thread, but is there a chance this mission can be updated for 1.5? I don't think the triggers are working properly now. It could've been on my side since I didn't use any mods like I normally would in standard DCS World.

Most of the missions created before 1.5 are no longer functioning as designed in 1.5 and I doubt that the original creators will have any interest in going through the process of repairing them at this point. I think the time has finally come to throw all the old missions in the recycle bin and start over.

Unless someone can come up with a batch utility that can update them, I think you're probably right. There's nothing more annoying than spending an hour flying a mission only to find it's broken and can't be completed!

I think one thing is more annoying: to spend 20 hours building a mission and then to find out that after a patch it is no longer playable until you spend another 5h to fix it :cry:

This discussion would be best suited for a dedicated thread... but I will say this;

Mission compatibility should be maintained between different versions of the sim, however tweaks may always be needed due to changes of AI behavior, bugs, and the fact that the sim is always going to be changing. These tweaks are not always on your end, as there could very well be game-wide bugs. I don't believe throwing out old missions is a step needed to be taken, rather you need to isolate what the problem might be, reproduce it, and report it. In fact I think that playing older missions to see what works and what doesn't work should be considered part of the beta process. Just don't assume that everything is going to function exactly the same as it did before and be on the lookout for anything odd and be inquisitive of the stuff that does look odd.

The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world.
