awdrgyjo Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 On another thread, I was advised [being a newbie] to take into consideration the SA when flying into a hostile situation, this opened a another dimension regarding this sim, one of many. Will I ever excel at flying this sim, yea in time, will I ever master it, I doubt it, but, there lies the challenge. We owe a huge debt of gratitude to the people behind this sim, consider the entertainment value for such a relative small price. Next time you bemoan the glitches and shortcomings, consider all the things it excels at, personally i can watch the start up sequence from the exterior view over and over again, to me, its like a work of art. So take a minute, go on to you tube and look at the sims i was brought up on, interceptor, fighter bomber, F-16 combat pilot, falcon3 [Amiga 500] falcon 4, and hind, it will be an eye opener, lets not moan, lets be grateful. 1
Yurgon Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 I don't think the crowd in this forum is a particularly moanful one compared to... well... pretty much any other forum I have ever visited. But I fully agree that, from time to time, verbal praise is in place for all the guys (and girls?) who work on the sims and listen to our complaints on the forums (BTW, when is the compatibility patch going to come out again?!). :-) So let me just say how grateful I am for the fantastic work ED did and hopefully will continue to do for the whole flight sim crowd.
OzzyJack Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 I couldn't agree more, the more that I fly the Black Shark the more I realise what a gem ED have given us, not to mention the incredible A10 . Safe to say, I imagine I will be buying anything and everything in the DCS series. Max kudos to ED and everyone else involved :)
grant575 Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Its funny that while I was driving today I was thinking that BS and DCS a10 are such great sims compared to what first got me into the genre. In have had a break for a few years and recently purchased a10 and I was amazed, so much so I have spent a truckload on peripherals so the experience is even better. I agree Awg that we shouldn't complain but I also agree that most of the posters here are bringing up genuine issues with the game and hopefully the developers will take notice and make changes. But you do bring up a great point and I hope that these great sims encourage more to get into the genre and that leads to more development.
