dooom Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 (edited) NO GLASSES REQUIRED! JUST YOUR EYES... I picked this technique up this week and tried it out. I think i saw it at SimHQ... Step 1: Stage photo in favorite ED sim title. Step 2: Take screen shot. Step 3: Move external camera slightly to the right, careful to stay in plane. Take another screenshot. Step 4: Stitch the two screen shots side by side in GIMP or Photoshop BUT SWAP the screenshots so the SS you took in step 3 is on the LEFT and the SS from step 2 is on the RIGHT. Step 5: Save new photo. To see in 3D, sit back and cross your eyes until the photos line up in the middle (you should see 3 pictures when your eyes are crossed) and voila' you have a stereoscopic 3D Screenshot. My quick tests from tonight... they worked for me!! Lets see yours! Edited August 18, 2011 by dooom ASUS Tuf Gaming Pro x570 / AMD Ryzen 7 5800X @ 3.8 / XFX Radeon 6900 XT / 64 GB DDR4 3200 "This was not in the Manual I did not read", cried the Noob" - BMBM, WWIIOL

dooom Posted August 18, 2011 Author Posted August 18, 2011 im pretty sure the stitch has to swap the eyes for the 3d to work properly. If you move camera left, it would just reverse the swap you'd have to do... combatace Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 Why not just moving the external camera slighty to the LEFT? then you can stitch them together without swapping. For 3d to work like this you need to see the image normally seen by the left eye with the right one and the image seen by the right eye with the left one and then overlap them. The Flying Goose Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Haha oh great, now I wish I could just cross my eyes! Q6600 @ 2.4 GHz, Sapphire 5870, TM Warthog, 4 GB RAM, Windows 7
Evil.Bonsai Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 I'm the opposite. I can't cross my eyes (so these images look a bit jacked to me) but I can de-couple my eyes, so that left eye looks straight and right eye looks straight.
jib Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 I saw this thread and though I would have a play around. It is easiest if you save the jpegs then change the viewer size so that the images are quite small size (about the size of a credit card) for the easiest way to see the 3D effect. here is what I got: SOO COOL. Now I really want to buy 3D Glasses and screen for my pc! ( I already have a Samsung 3D TV but way to much hassle moving my flight sim set-up to the other room just to test it) Mods I use: KA-50 JTAC - Better Fire and Smoke - Unchain Rudder from trim KA50 - Sim FFB for G940 - Beczl Rocket Pods Updated!
