There seem to have been quite alot of recent posts about people trying to get into multiplayer and not being sure how to do it. Also people seem to have difficulty getting organised to all play a mission at the same time.

A group I joined a while back use a Skype channel with everyone in the same group chat to allow people to arrange sessions etc at short notice. So I'm considering stealing this idea from them and running a dedicated Skype group chat just for this and DCS A10 (thanks to Folk for the idea)

What do people think? Is this worthwhile? It would mean any interested people requesting friendship from my server. I've set up a Skype account called goingugly to try this out.

Comments / friend requests welcome! :)

As you said, so many things have been tried. I don't use skype so it ends there for me I think ;) Each server usually have a TS3 server to use when playing, I'm using that when I want to talk and play. But its worth a try ;)

I think its a great idea I don't have much fun flying without talking to someone.

Thanks for comments so far. I already run a TS server as well as an A10 server.

The point of the Skype channel is that if a critical mass of people were to start using it, one could type an instant message asking for others to join up to play a session and all meet online at short notice. My main problem with organised MP is I have trouble arranging anything in advance!

Perhaps I'm in the minority. ;)

As of right now, I'm available all day this Sunday 8/21 and most of the day Monday 8/22. EST, USA. I want to fly a coop mission. I have ts and Skype. Anyone available during those days?

I am EST also. I should be on Monday after noon around 1700.

I jumped on Krebs TS server last night and was by myself. I'm just picking the game up and would like to get some coops in soon. Not available tonight, but might be tomorrow if anybody wants to set something up. EST here, so probably 7pm-10pm ish.

Did you set the Skype group up Sleem? And is it working the way you wanted?

It continues to run on my server but there's only a few members of it currently. Hopefully more will gradually join and it will become more useful.

I'm also looking at FalconBMS and running a server for that if possible. The dynamic campaign and multiple roles have enticed me in :)

At the moment there are nine people in the group, from varying timezones. Anyone can join if they want.

I must admit I've lost a little interest in A10 recently while trying to relearn FalconBMS and get ready for another baby!
