Heli Shed Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 As some of you may seen today, RED 4 of the Red Arrows Display team, piloted by Flt Lt Egging, crashed today on route back to land at Bournmouth airport. Flt Lt Egging was thrown from the aircraft on impact and was dead on scene. There was no attempt to eject made, and it seems that the skies were clear. Flt Lt Egging was a veteran of Combat Sorties in Afghanistan in Harriers, and a highly experienced pilot. The site is now being investigated by the MOD Air Crash Investigation Team. More of the story can be read here: http://news.sky.com/home/uk-news/article/16053735 On behalf of the 74th vfs 'The Flying Tigers', Our sincerest condolences to Flt Lt Egging's Wife and friends, the Red Arrows, The Blues, and of course to the Virtual Red Arrows, whose pure display brilliance epitomises the respect we ALL have for those that do it for real. Ragtop Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 As I said in the Military Aviation Forum, this is a huge loss to the aviation community as a whole. the Reds are not just a display team, but highly honourable, decorated and seasoned combat veterans. My heart goes out to the family and friends of Flt. Lt. Jon Egging and all those that were close to him. 476th vFG Alumni

mvsgas Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Did he have a family? Maybe we could look if there is a way to help Not just him but other families that have endure the same loss. Anyone know if this is a legit website? http://www.rafwidowsassociation.org.uk/ To whom it may concern, I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that. Thank you for you patience. Many people don't want the truth, they want constant reassurance that whatever misconception/fallacies they believe in are true..
