HI hog drivers;

After nearly a year with the Tir 5 without clip pro, and after realizing the several profiles

available are not to blame of my poor performance with the thing, I took the plunge and bought

the Clip pro.

I tried several things. Downloaded the Wags profile, tweaked the smooth to 0.5 and speed to 26, and reduce the distance to the camera in front of the LCD to no avail.

After seeing the Excessiveheadspace and other videos on the utube, I've noticed how far I'am from the proper settings.

I'm unable to reach the corners of the left/right console, unable to zoom properly on the CDU, unable to switch the EAC and radar on the laste panel properly and, last but not least watch the MFD properly centered. The osb switches are most of the time askew, not corresponding the action with the OSB.

Tired really of this. Further tips welcome on this issue guys.

Always trying to put the thing on the thing...

I think it's hard to get a profile set where you can reach everything without it being askew. For the CDU and MFCD's I often use the snapviews.

Also, after some time you remember the button positions and them being askew becomes less of a problem.

I think the idea of the proclip is to have more precise movement. I don't think it improves the range of motion in any way.

The best you could do I guess is to finetune your own profile. I did so myself as well. It's quite time-consuming and not anywhere near perfect, but I'm pleased with the results.

I bought the proclip package when I got my TIR5 though. So coming from not having TIR to having it was quite an experience / eye opener for me.

Try resetting your trackir while looking slight up, straight ahead. This will allow you more room to look down/around.

Reset your trackIR a little lower, straight ahead and this allows you to view more things up.

For instance if I center/reset my track ir while looking straight but slightly up, I can view the entire cockpit without problems. If I center/reset track ir in the "Center" of my screen I have issues.

I customed my curves so that slight head movements give you the full range, it is difficult to get it to be able to look straight up and out the canopy like in real life and still be able to look all the way down at all the buttons.

Heres a simple little demo video that gives you a decent idea of movement, and the other videos of course Im using it so you can see. It is really really sensitive and gives full range, but zoom doesnt work that great which I suffice, I have joystick buttons for zoom so no big deal. Anyhow if you try it out, stick with it for a few months. Like joystick controls when you set new settings it takes 1-3 months to get really used to them and fully proficient. Good luck, hope this helps.

I dont know if the profile includes some of the globals, I think it does but just in case mine are set to:

speed:1

smooth:10

I use the profile from here called DCS that one of the game makers use

I have it set for exclusive and centre my trakir before i start the game.

With that done using trackir5 and pro clip i can see everything.

Move my head down a wee bit and to the left lets me see the screen head on

From what I have read here, very few people use precision. It is easier to use TIR pause if you are having trouble hitting the switch.

I am using the Wags profile as well and it works just fine for me. In fact I did not change a single thngs and I can see and touch everything in the pit just fine.

The placement of the Head unit is very critical as well as background lighting. I slowed mine down quite a bit first few times I used it I thought my head was going to explode from trying to keep track of what I was seeing. I like the precision mode it helps smooth the tracking quite a bit.
