Hello again,

I'm having trouble with even editing or adding new INU fixtaking (update flyover points), in blacked out fields for Lat/Long in the editor. I try adding new, clicking on RMB/LMB on map, nothing happens..

Also, kindly explain how to update INU fixtaking using the 2 position switch which is incorrectly described in the English manual... Spasibo..

Specially in GOW, chopper goes berserk, and cant steady anymore cuz of nav errors cumulated in the INU (stupid system)..

AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS

Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.

AFAIK, this may be fixed in the upcoming patch.

You can also work around it by doing a little editing:

In the manual, locate the chapter "Helicopter Coordinate Corrections". I don't think there's anything wrong with that description.

Besides, for all I know, accumulation of INU errors isn't even modeled, so whatever you experienced must have had another reason (forgot to switch on INU heat or pitot heat in cold weather/high altitude flight maybe?).

On the contrary, I was over the sea, 100 feet to be exact, with Pitot heat and the one next to it on. INU and heat were both on, Vnk, Sling etc... the whole back shoulder levers were up.. Is the missile temperature even modeled, or what does it do in real life if it isnt??

I had my wingy recce 3 kilametrea ;) to enemy FEBA, and got 3 feeds on 2 armors and a ZSU, saved all by tapping SEND MEM on DL panel. Next, I had a Kh-25 ML itching for that ZSU, so I rotate and start rangefinder, locked target, and the Kh-25 wont steady, becuz I was rotating away from it..

Hmm, that doesn't sound so much like INU drift. It sounds more like problems with the stability augmentation channels or with auto hover. These are fed from the doppler nav system, so even if INU drift was modeled, I don't think it would have an influence here. Of course, trimming might be an issue as well.

Or did you just have trouble pinpointing the target with "auto turn to target"? It's not that precise, you'll most likely have to make manual rudder adjustments to get the pipper on the target circle.

Do you still have a track? Preferably a short one? :-)

Sadly I dont... But what I have is a track for the escort mission, albeit a different issue now.. Having those guys ambushed after a successful FAM flight is not my cup'o'tea, not after a hard day at the clinic, that is...

It isn't, and isn't likely to be either.

As for stability issues, what is the wind like in the mission?

Nate

Its the first mission in GOW.. unless you set the weather to be random, it wasnt windy, and takeoff was a breeze.. In fact, I had been marked more than once, and possibly got damaged without actually getting notified (a missile proximity fuse is not my cup'o'tea either), but I can assure you, after growing despair, I floored it and got hammered pretty good to the bottom..

Unless my fast forwarding tampered with the outcome of the flight, you were chasing your wingman instead of watching the convoy. I tend to agree with the file name you chose to describe that mission. :-)
