Sense Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Hi, I'm currently playing the Deployment campaign. When I ask permission for takeoff, I only receive a message in the upper left corner. there's no sound. I wonder if anybody has the same problem, and if someone has a solution for it?
Jona33 Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Read somewhere FARP ATC has no voice acting. Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing

spikenet Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 On a side note, is there any documentation on using the new comms menu? Must admit to being lost as to whom my ATC is as now you have a long list to select from. If i'm on a FARP who do I select? thanks
nomdeplume Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 I haven't tried with a FARP so I've no idea! Will try that when I get a chance. The list of airfields is sorted by range, i.e. the closest one is the one at the top of the list. So probably the FARP you're at will be at the top of the list?

nomdeplume Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 ok thanks, where did you read that? I looked in the new manual but cant remember seeing any of that mentioned. Not sure if I read it specifically anywhere. It's just how it works in DCS A-10C and it seems the same in BS2.
nomdeplume Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Just tested it and the FARPs do indeed show up in the airbases list, presumably sorted amongst the airbases in order of distance. Also noticed something strange - Senaki-Kolkhi airbase is listed as "callsign Kolkhi" - see screenshot. I think it should just be "Kolkhi".
spikenet Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 ok, I was hoping I didnt have to fuss to much with the detail of comms.. I'm happy to ask permission to fly, land etc oh well.. Its all for the greater good ;)

Its all for the greater good ;) You don't have to do it, but it's there if you want to. For example if you just start moving they'll come back with a "Ok, clear to taxi!" comment. I guess the only one you'd have to do is asking for ground power. nomdeplume Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 ok, I was hoping I didnt have to fuss to much with the detail of comms.. There's an option in the gameplay options screen which I think is called 'easy communications' or something to that effect. If you enable that, then your radio will auto-tune to whatever frequency it needs to be on in order to communicate with whoever you selected from the menu.

In the background, everything is tilted to the right. :)

I'd rather keep voice acting in english if possible
Nate--IRL-- Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 You could try it, no idea if it will work, but there is a good chance it will. It will still go into the RUS folder. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
Sense Posted November 9, 2011 Author Posted November 9, 2011 Thanks:smilewink: I prefered russian atc anyways.
