Deadman Posted March 11, 2012 Author Posted March 11, 2012 Well guys I had a lot planed for this week end with casting, and i wanted to get the lead wires soldered in to the connector for the grip but do to some personal problems things are on hold for a few days. I will update you when i get back on track thanks https://forum.dcs.world/topic/133818-deadmans-cockpit-base-plans/#comment-133824 CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.
Duckling Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 (edited) HI Duck Yes it is but I am trying to figure out how to make it I think I will have to have y2kiah do some laser engraving for me so these will be custom order and a bit more expensive than some people will pay. I was lucky to get the thumb wheel separated from the base so it is cast able and i have the gear system so it is doable it comes down to cost as all ways. Great. They will be worth it, and time is not important. Also looked at the lastest pics you posted,. If possible , add a copy of the "fuelgate" lever switchknob Quiz. Would you like the "orders" sent or entered in some way to ease the administration ? Edited March 11, 2012 by Duckling - - - -
Gadroc Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Well guys I had a lot planed for this week end with casting, and i wanted to get the lead wires soldered in to the connector for the grip but do to some personal problems things are on hold for a few days. I will update you when i get back on track thanks Damn real life, it always has a way of getting in the way of our plans. Hope things are ok.
Deadman Posted March 11, 2012 Author Posted March 11, 2012 (edited) Thanks for the kind thought Gadroc but things are not good at this time but may get better with time Duck I will be in touch every one has been asking for compete sets and so I am not thinking about making single knobs for people. As far as selling and ordering goes I have not planed on a web site or any thing at this time so orders would be just through Pay pal possibly as the last run of cover but i am not set on any thing at this time. Damn real life, it always has a way of getting in the way of our plans. Hope things are ok. Deadman Posted March 24, 2012 Author Posted March 24, 2012 Well its 1230 in the morning my time I worked 5 hours and finally got the solid gray knobs and the Chanel select wheel ( AN/ARC 186) molds poured. We will see if their good in 16 hours. Then I will pour the clear knobs and solid black knobs molds then, I can start casting. There are still some knobs I do not have but will continue to look for I still have not heard back from Paul but i am sure he will get a hold of me when he has time. https://forum.dcs.world/topic/133818-deadmans-cockpit-base-plans/#comment-133824 CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.

avlolga Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 wow Deadman, just saw it it's look great, well done.
Deadman Posted March 28, 2012 Author Posted March 28, 2012 HI guys as you can see I have copied the An/ARC 186 Chanel selector wheel I have the numbered part as well but need to know if some one with a laser has access to a rotary attachment for working on bottles or glass to engrave the numbers in to transparent slice of tubing? https://forum.dcs.world/topic/133818-deadmans-cockpit-base-plans/#comment-133824 CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.
y2kiah Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 unfortunately the laser I have been able to use does not have one what is the diameter of the tube? I have seen some engravings on acrylic tubing done with the laser that didn't turn out too bad - done without a rotary just using normal x-y movement
