BS2 Graphic doubt

Few days ago I saw somewhere here pics showing A10C lasers through NVGs at night!

I run to my Ka 50 and set up a night mission , turn NVGs on and fire up my laser but I only see a laser energy reflecting a little dot in the ground.

Not the full ray cutting the air from the chopper to the ground.

and also put some enemy vehicles and when I receive the painting alert cant see the lasers pointing at me....

In BS2 this effect is not fully implemented as in the A10C or the lasers are in some way different?

I now they work under different frequencies or intensities but I like to know.

The line you see on the picture probably was a IR pointer for marking the target not a Laser Beam

It was an IR pointer. I don't recall where it was posted but there were pics of both laser and IR included and the laser only shows the dot.

Yes, I was talking about those pics Chichlidfan.....

and I was interpreting them in a wrong way

In the third pic I thought that the A10 pilot shut the laser system off and for a few moments the laser energy been applied over the target was still shinning.

This can only happen if you using FLIR (thermal imaging intensifier) and a high energy laser that heats up the surface.

The only occasion when this is visible with a NVG (light image intensifier) is when you more than 300000 kilometres away - so you can see the the returning light after you (or someone) switched of the the laser.

But it is very doubtful that you can do this with a A-10. ;)

Yes, only IR pointer from the A10 is visible using NVG.

Think I posted some screenshots too from a BS2/A10C multiplayer flight not so long ago:

It's quite logical. The laser wavelength falls outside of the NVG's spectrum, and the IR pointer does not.

...and if you see a laser-beam pointing right at you - be afraid. Be very afraid... :D
