Since FC 1.1 my kh-41 missiles were shot down (about 400m before impact) by the guns of the US-CV time after time. Anti air-missiles let pass but super guns on the carrier have 100% accuracy.

I tried to set the carrier AI on average, but I still have no success.

With 1.02 I guess the Kh-41 had about 50% chance.

 

Suggestions, Anyone,

Yeah. Use a proper carrier attack force of some 20 jets ... aside from the ones you'll need to protect you form the tomcats and hornets.

Take 3 wingmen and make sure all the missiles get released at once.

 

I will try this but the thing is I want to get the score not give my wingman the kill! :icon_wink

With an accuracy of over 128km launch and fire and forget capability of the Kh-41 I have no problems with protection against hornets.

 

No way that I fly against tomcats with AIM-54’s :biggrin:

Plan a diversionary hit from the opposite side of the ship to draw gun fire away from your KH-41 prior to your missile entering gun range. ;)

 

Take some Mirages, F4's or Su-17's to engage the Hornets. :D

When all else fails, Eject then read the manual.

Oh, and a good wingman helps.

Stagger the launches a little bit- a second or 2 between shots is about right. The Moskits will end up flying in very tight. If one is going to go down- & they are close enough in proximity- you can lose more than 1 at a time. Recommend at least 3 anti- ship fighters. I think the CVN will take at least 4 hits before it goes down.

I’ll try this week-end with 2x 3 su-33’s (anti-ship)

Yesterday I was trying in front of the carrier (the bow) again I had no luck with these CVN super guns!

 

So I give the command (“attack sea targets..”) and have to be the 4th with a hit to sink the CVN. (I remember the black hole in the hull of the CVN)

 

PS. It is more fun with a deck full of parked planes :biggrin:

CVN70 will sink after 6 direct hits (with kh-41) with FC 1.11. (Carrier was on average AI and slider 50%)

Has anyone tried this yet with the Admiral Kuznetsov in 1.11?

Has anyone tried this yet with the Admiral Kuznetsov in 1.11?

I hit it with 5 mavericks and it didnt die, although it stopped firing stuff at me (too bad I was already blitzed)
