The VFAT Staff and over 100 virtual aerobatic pilots would like to invite you to the Virtual Festival of Aerobatic Teams 2011.

The Virtual Festival of Aerobatic Teams or VFAT is a big international airshow like RIAT or MAKS and spectators will be able to watch the demonstrations flown LIVE through our VFAT TV.

 

The pilots mostly simulate the displays of real aerobatic teams like the Patrouille Suisse, Thunderbirds, Blue Angels, Red Arrows, Russian Knights and Blue Impulse, however, many teams also create their own spectacular displays instead of simulating real life counterparts.

 

Witness the result of another year of hard work by the pilots, simply for the enjoyment to the general public!

VFAT 2011 huh! jesus, just sorta 'snuck' up on me this year!

 

We are promoting this fantastic event on our site and have set aside a dedicated Teamspeak channel for those who wish to hang out and watch it.

 

We have also embedded the player on one of our pages.

PS: Hey Ells'y. Me n the kids watched the flight today with the vulcan bomber. I was touched by the opening dedication to the recent loss of the 2 pilots and to my kinsman in the Defence community. Thanks man. S!

Also a little something to get us in VFAT mood:

 

Twas the night before VFAT, when all through the house.

Not a pilot was stiring, not even a mouse.

The helmets were hung by the chimney with care,

In hopes that VFAT soon would be there.

 

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,

While visions of aircraft flew in their heads.

And mamma in her ‘kerchief, and I in my cap,

Had just settled our brains for a long winter’s nap.

 

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,

I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.

Away to the window I flew like a flash,

Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

 

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow

Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below.

When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,

But a diamond formation high in the air.

 

With a young spritely driver, in a nice polished hat,

I knew in a moment it must be VFAT.

More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,

And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!

 

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,

When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky.

So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,

With birds and clouds and the sun brightly too.

 

And then, in a twinkling, I heard in the sky

Those magnificent jets, all flying by.

As I drew in my breath, and was turning around,

I heard loud thunder, now what was that sound.

 

A jet roaring past, you said, you know,

Well it must be VFAT, on with the show!

The sky filled with smoke, the jets in their might,

Roaring from the ground, as they all take flight.

 

He sprang to his jet, to his team gave a whistle,

And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.

As I stood in awe, as they flew out of sight,

"Happy VFAT to all, and to all a good-night!"

I had to go out last night, so I couldn't watch the VRA-display live, but I watched the video of it just now. Great work VRA, I really enjoyed it. Very precise flying. My hat is off to you and all other aerobatic teams and solo's. Great work gentlemen. Thanks for your efforts.

I had to go out last night, so I couldn't watch the VRA-display live, but I watched the video of it just now. Great work VRA, I really enjoyed it. Very precise flying. My hat is off to you and all other aerobatic teams and solo's. Great work gentlemen. Thanks for your efforts.

 

Couldn't agree more 'B'. Some awesome flying by all, really, but for me so far has been the VRA.

 

A little shocked no one took up the 'A-10C' challenge for this year.............
