JTAC entry from TAD

I thought I maybe missing something before calling JTAC for tasking. What (apart from the radio) do I need to set up to contact and receive tasking from JTAC on the TAD?

JTRS must be on, and IIRC you need to be on SADL Net ID 01 and Own ID 01.

So, hitting wilco will snap the SPI over the red triangle.. I didn't know that. This whole time I have been having to find the red triangle first, then moving the cursor over it and then making it the spi with the TMS.. Thanks, fellas for the tip, this will save some heads down time.

 

Hitting WILCO will not make the red triangle SOI. If TAD was SPI generator, and you hook the triangle, it will become SPI automatically because SPI generated by TAD is always the current active hook.

JTRS - Joint Tactical Radio System. EPLRS radio installed on A-10C initially was considered as a temporary solution before JTRS will be fielded.

On the TAD screen click the NET button in the bottom right corner. That will bring up a new page where along the right side of the TAD you'll see GRP ID and OWN ID. You can type in a number, like 01, in the UFC or CDU then click the GRP ID button and it will switch to the number you typed. To return to the normal TAD screen click the TAD button in the top left.
