whartsell Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 whartsell, watch you back !!!. when you start being shocked from your wife - "wife said i could put the pit in the game room" this can be very expansive. don't fall for it, be strong, join the Group !!! :megalol: next week she we tell you - i have allowed you to move your fine pit to the .... what do you say about this new item ..... (mmmm it can be anything) ... forget about new IO card, new panel , new screen for the next half year... :D Maybe she is trying to get me out of the house...She has also given me permission to start building a RV-10 next year Arduino,EOS and Helios Tutorial Static ATC menu mod
PlainSight Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 A little progress. Now i've got a second monitor with Helios running. The config with all the exports was a real pain in the butt. But now I am happy, that it is working. Much better MFDs position, that's what i was talking about. [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
Timmay Posted January 31, 2012 Author Posted January 31, 2012 See, sometimes I follow a good advice! LOL Thanks for your nice comments! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] If it got tits or wings, it makes you trouble!!
Timmay Posted February 4, 2012 Author Posted February 4, 2012 Just a little update. My first try on a stick extension. Just a prototype but it's workin like a charm. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] If it got tits or wings, it makes you trouble!!
whartsell Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 hows the stick force? is the return spring working ok? Arduino,EOS and Helios Tutorial Static ATC menu mod
PeterP Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Hi Timmay - here is a Idea how to get the stick to be self-centering by using a counterweight -I used a similar solution in my FFB build with a 1,5kg door-stopper.: And have a close look at this picture and you can see how to modify the "gardena" hose-adapters - so you are able to use a 20mm tube for the extension:
Timmay Posted February 5, 2012 Author Posted February 5, 2012 Thanks for the input. With the extension, the stick needs a little push to center it. But with Peters solution, it could be possible to remedy this. I'll give it a try, when time allows. Have a nice sunday! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] If it got tits or wings, it makes you trouble!!
agrasyuk Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 (edited) Timmay, with this length of extension doesn't your stick touch the front panel when you have it full forward? ADD: Hi Timmay - here is a Idea how to get the stick to be self-centering by using a counterweight -I used a similar solution in my FFB build with a 1,5kg door-stopper.: peter, i do not see how this idea can be implemented for WH stick that is used here. some serious surgery will be required. EDIT: now i see what you had in mind. somehow the picture embedded in thread got blocked. it is quite a project however. Edited February 7, 2012 by agrasyuk Anton. My pit build thread . Timmay Posted February 6, 2012 Author Posted February 6, 2012 Yes, that's one of the Problems i am facing right now. I am working on this and other issues that appeared during testing! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] If it got tits or wings, it makes you trouble!!
whartsell Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 When you built your ACEsII what did you use to attach the seatback to the seat base. It looks like bolts in your pics. Is that right? Arduino,EOS and Helios Tutorial Static ATC menu mod
Strix Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Maybe this will help? Win 10 64. GTX1080 ti 11 Gb, Intel i-5, 16 Gb ram, SSD 1,5 Tb, 2 Terrabyte HD, Monitor ASUS XG32V 144Hz, Slaw Milans Rudder Pedals BF109F , Joystick - HOTAS Warthog, Throttle - HOTAS Warthog, TrackIR V5. Pimax 5.
Timmay Posted February 8, 2012 Author Posted February 8, 2012 @ whartsell: Yes, that are bolts, we used 2 of them for each side. We drilled several holes in the backrest, so you can adjust it to your liking. @strix: He, that is exactly, what I was thinking about.... thx for the input!! Update: I received my Bodnar Card yesterday and now I am eager to build my first functional panel for the pit! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] If it got tits or wings, it makes you trouble!!
PeterP Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 (edited) Hi Timmay - as you can see on my stick - I have also a Rubber joint from a car , and this really don't affect the centring friction... - just look the video in my building thread. You will sure have to use springs or a counterweight to get the desired effect. peter, i do not see how this idea can be implemented for WH stick that is used here. some serious surgery will be required. Just look at the Sketchup drawings I have posted - and with a little imagination you will get the idea of my advise. ;) edit : Didn't saw that you saw it in the meantime ;) EDIT: now i see what you had in mind. somehow the picture embedded in thread got blocked. it is quite a project however. Strix Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 If u can put a big spring inside of the rubber, then it will stay in place and be protected. A cone shaped spring will due! Win 10 64.
