When I loaded BS2 is autoloaded into my Programs (x86) file. I understand that this is the windows 32 bit file. Is that correct?

Will I get better performance by reloading--forcing it--into the program files which are 64 bit?

Maybe I had a choice during the install and chose incorrectly, I don't remember that part. Maybe my computer is fast and I'm just slow. :music_whistling:

Thanks

BS2 will install either the 32 or 64 bit version based on your OS, you do not have a choice.

x86 doesn't have a Program Files (x86) folder... and just because it may have been installed in Progra~1 x86 it doesn't necessarily mean it's the 32-bit binaries.

Regardless, I would recommend you uninstall the game and install it in a directory other than Program Files (of any type), as this folder is "extra protected" by the system and often seems to cause issues for people. It's a little bit of a pain but it might save you more troubles later on.

I have Win7 Home Premium 64bit version and Black Shark 2. And it's installed in "Program Files" folder. Not in "Program Files (x86)".

Probably, you have 32bit Win7 HP.

Look into "\DCS Black Shark 2\bin\" folder. If you find "x86" folder there, than it is a 32bit version. If it is not there, than it's 64bit version... Simple :music_whistling::thumbup:

x64

Thanks everyone for your help. I'm running 64 bit Win 7.

Win 7 HP x64 has 2 program file folders. Program files and Programs filesx86. The x86 folder is 32 bit folder.

I looked in the BS2 bin folder and there is no folder x86. There is a file that is titled protectx64.

I will take your advice and move the sim out of the program files folder and see if that improves performance.

Location of game folder has no effect on game performance, moving it is a useless work... My path is (for example) "c:\Suchac\Hry\DCS Black Shark 2\"...

"Hry" stands for "Games" in Czech :smartass:
