wolle Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 I encounter the following problem regularly: When I slew the Maverick seeker head around trying to lock on to the desired target, sometimes while I move it around it locks on to a different object than what I want. No problem so far, but sometimes it does not want to move away from that object (I am not sure if it's a building or what), I have to keep pushing on the slew control head for many seconds to get it to move away from that object (and then of course the slew hopelessly overshoots and I get stuck at a different object I don't want), sometimes I have to give up, and use china hat aft to slew the Maverick to boresight and start over from scratch. Anybody know what I am talking about. What's going on? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Intel Core I7 4820K @4.3 GHz, Asus P9X79 motherboard, 16 GB RAM @ 933 MHz, NVidia GTX 1070 with 8 GB VRAM, Windows 10 Pro
Praetorx Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 happens to me aswell, quickly switch to TGP and then back and you should be in the same general area

scheffchen Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 TMS down Short doesnt tms down short just loose lock and does ground stabilize? What I do in these situations is to lock, loose lock, lock again, loose again until I lock the correct target. Other solutions would be to use force correlate mode (assuming you dont have agm65d) or gain altitude or get closer ;) 9900k, 2080TI, 64GB, ssd, valve index, Thrustmaster on virpil, virpil cm2 throttle, tpr pedals, mfd.

Note that force correlate is hard to break unless you boresight the seeker head. AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS Fat T is above, thin T is below. Depth Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 I was really enthusiastic about a 65D launch once but it never hit its target. Could not for the life in me figure out where it headed, nothing at all on the TGP. Looked at the track and apparently it had locked onto and completely obliderated a pylon a few 20 metres east of the intended target. I'm still speechless. And I can imagine the tank crews were as well. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Cali Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Same thing happens in fc2 and it happened in fc1 also. Not sure if it is modeled in DCS, you could have locked the pylon by accident.
