Smasher Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Okay, so I just got the Logitech G940 yesterday and I am trying to set up my profile. My main issue with testing is the trim does not seem to be working correctly or my old stick has left me with unrealistic stick movement (bad) habits. This is my issue: When I hit the trim button I hear the click and I feel the aircraft trimming to my stick position, however when I release the button and the stick I imitatively go into a 30 degree nose up situation. Am I going to have to keep my hand on the stick and apply pressure the entire time? I have never flown a real helicopter so I am not exactly sure what I should be feeling through the stick. Any help on this would be much appreciated. :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] ------------------------------------------------- DCS A-10, LOMAC(FC2), Falcon 4.0(BMS) ------------------------------------------------- Intel i7 2600K (OC: 4.8GHz) Liquid Cooled, EVGA GTX 570 HD, 16GB RAM, ASUS P8P67 PRO,SB X-FI Titanium HD

If not, disable the "center spring in ffb games" tick under windows game controller settings. If this doesn't help, set the shaker force ingame to 0. so long Mathias My System: Intel Core i7-4770K, Asus ROG Strix RX480 O8G, 24GB Ram
jib Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 (edited) Unfortunately there is a bug with the G940 (with mine anyway) that is doesn’t release the pressure on holding down the trim button (only for an instant when the trim button is released). The way I get around this is my using the Logitech profiler to send a stream of T key presses while I hold down the trim button. This works ok but the stick does feel a bit "gratey" while moving around. I hope this helps you out, any more questions I will try and answer them. I believe the G940 is the best and most realistic (because of force feedback) stick to play Blackshark with on the market. It just needs a bit of tweaking Also make sure Forcefeedback is enabled in the options menu and disable the "center spring in ffb games" and uncheck the alternate trim mode in the menu options Edited February 23, 2012 by jib Mods I use: KA-50 JTAC - Better Fire and Smoke - Unchain Rudder from trim KA50 - Sim FFB for G940 - Beczl Rocket Pods Updated! Smasher Posted February 23, 2012 Author Posted February 23, 2012 (edited) and uncheck the alternate trim mode in the menu options In game? Also, I don't think I have the same bug as you do. When I depress teh Trim Button I hear a click and when i release it I hear a click. So far nothing has fixed this. P1KW Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Make sure you have selected a sensitivity of 30-70% in the Logitech software, on the axes X, Y. Ideally 50%. Do not touch the curves in DCS. With a high sensitivity, the point of trimming is more accurate but harder to control the helicopter. Greetings. "If adventure is dangerous, try the routine. It is deadly." Paulo Coelho.
StoOopiD Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 imo, i think the g940 needs to be pulled from the shelves. what a piece of do-do. i had it for 2 days, returned, refunded. first i hated the golf ball size slop in the FFB, then i updated the FW to 1.42. which sorta fixed the slop, but then the rudder pedals started spiking. doing some research trying to find a fix to the rudder pedals, i found out how shitty it really is. if u plan on keeping it, u might as well start taking it apart. here are some design flaws that are inevitable. its funny how logitech is trying to fix their hardware with software. lol http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3007420/4.html http://riseofflight.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=350&t=25707 to fix the trim u need to cover the deadman sensor on the stick. with rubberbands or tape or whatever. goodluck imo, the force 3d pro has better FFB effects. praying for a new sidewinder to be released with M$ Flight. please..... Smasher Posted February 23, 2012 Author Posted February 23, 2012 Okay, I have to keep my hand on the stick, It trims just fine, but If I remove my hand from the stick about a second later the stick jumps. Is there a censer that feels the slight amount of pressure that tells it my hand is still on the stick? It doesn't make any attempt to move if my hand is just placed on the stick but as soon as I move it it jumps. Is this typical? Is there a fix? Smasher Posted February 23, 2012 Author Posted February 23, 2012 (edited) Dead man censer it is!!! Holy crap, fixed all my problems! Duct tape fixes everything! Kind of a crappy feature to put on this kind of stick. Kalrasha Cryton Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Hey thanks for sudgesting to take off that damn centering, that's what gives me my problems +10 rep for you brosuf
kingpinda Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 sorry for digging up this thread but before I buy the BS2 update... Did they tackle the trim rudder problem? iirc whenever you trimmed and you had full right rudder for instance and you kept your foot on full right rudder, the amount of rudder was doubled. except when you centered the rudder which still meant you would have full right rudder. I would hope that they had an option to remove the rudder from trimming.

AlphaInfinity Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Same question guys, have they fixed most of the issues with firmware? If you own this hardware, would you suggest buying it to others/? fangav Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Yes I would, Ive read a lot of neg comments about the G940 but mine works great and Ive never had any problems that weren't of my own making, eg trying to copy my profiles over from BS1 too BS2, I no longer use the logitech profiler as I thought it cause problems and set everything up in game.
