Shark-Bait Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 Hi, I'm pretty newb with BS and the DCS game engine. I loaded up BS2 and in axis-assign, there's an axis for each engine throttle but no axis for 'Throttle' ie both. Since I like to assign collective to one throttle lever and both throttles to the other one... is there any fix for this ? Thanks in advance for any help. EtherealN Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 While I don't understand why you'd want the throttles on an axis (you just leave it on auto anyhow, unless there's engine damage or failures in which case you'd be likely to kill one engine and run the other one on emergency - meaning different settings where having both on one might be counterproductive, IMO), there are three selections in Axis Commands: Left Throttle, Right Throttle, and Throttle. Have you tried Throttle? HugePanic Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 you really just need two key's on your keyboard: throttle up throttle down At start-up, put throttle to "auto". That's it. If you are one engine is on fire, press "throttle up" for "full" power and prepare for impact. At the same time, check if you need the ejection-seat...
Yurgon Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 This might be stating the obvious, but there's usually no need to map the throttle to an axis. Instead of repeating words already written, let me point you to this thread over at SimHQ: Collective not working with HOTAS?
BigfootMSR Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 He is new and has not yet learned the difference between the throttle, collective, and cyclic. I did the same thing when I first started up the sim. Got a good laugh when my controls were all messed up. I have created some training missions to help new comers to the game get started faster. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=84612 Happy Flying! Shark-Bait Posted May 7, 2012 Author Posted May 7, 2012 Thanks a lot for all the replies, appreciate it. I've switched to just using Page Up. %) Just was so used to using an analogue throttle in all the fixed-wing sims I had played before.
