Not worth it. Pretty junk. For a little more, you can buy a used Cougar. I saw one a while back for $189. I think it was on Amazon.

I was just looking around because they're hard to find. Most places are out of stock and the Cougar has been discontinued.

Your best bet might be to pay about twice that much and get a Warthog, but they're expensive.

Your only other real option is too look at a Saitek joystick. They're probably the cheapest, but aren't near as nice as the Cougar or Warthog.

Also, two other good sticks are CH Hotas, and Logitech makes a Hotas. Plus, this: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=77287&highlight=mig+hotas

Yeah I was checking out that cougar, looks to be what I'm aiming for. Lots of people are generally unhappy with the x52 pro. Been scouring for the cougar myself, having a hard time finding one. Granted I'll be running this sim along with future ones for a long time to come but I just can't get down with dropping 1/2 a grand on the hog :)

Thanks for all the links for sure!

I am 100% happy with my x52 pro. No complaints whatsoever. I use it in DCS A10 and Falcon BMS

System:

i7 920 @3.8ghz; GTX 560ti 448; 6gb DDR3 1600 ram; 750gb HDD; 750w PSU; Win7 64bit; x52 Pro; TrackIR 5

Same, can't fault my X52 Pro. Only very slightly upgraded mine from a normal X52 and the build quality and feel of the stick is great.

Of course I could spend a lot more on a hotas set up but considering I sold my 5 year old X52 for 50 quid and bought the x52 Pro for around 70 then I didn't actually fork out a great deal for what I believe was money well spent.

The X52 Pro is a great HOTAS. I've still got mine in storage in case of my WH breaking down. Probably the best stick for the amount of money you're paying.

Not to be confused with the standard x-52.

Well the X52 standard ain't no slouch, especially after spring and magnet modding it

ok I dunno why I'm not subscribed to this but I am seriously considering both. It seems like the pro would be the obvious choice but why do you prefer the standard shadowze?

BTW: Thanks for all the input thus far, blatant pun intended :)

Edit: I decided on the pro, found a good deal on one off the bay. I could have got a good standard and I did look into the simplistic modding but I figure I'm gonna be logging a lot of hours on this thing so I'm hoping for the better constructed stick to pay off. Thanks all for helping me make an informed decision :)

Has anybody else tried this? I almost bought it but if you look on the website you'll see that switch 8 and 9 are decorations only, dunno if that would matter but I'd like to know other peoples opinions on this stick and if anybody has it yet. Dunno if the bang for buck is worth it vs a tried and true.

But this is for Xbox 360... What kind of flight sims are on the Xbox 360? None. Only arcade flight shooters with 256 missiles on a plane.

I thought it might be interesting, 360 stuff usually backward compats with pc, the more I look at that throttle compared to others the more I see it is junk. I'm hoping I"m gonna be happy with the x52pro, tried to get an x65 on the cheap but I got outbid on that
