awdrgyjo Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 I've started the first mission on the shore campaign, which is SAR, when I get close to the waypoint, my flight gets knocked out by MIGs, it seems like we are sitting ducks. So the question is this, do i go head to head with the MIGS, or fly somewhere until the guard takes them out, if so where? thanks in advance.
RodBorza Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Wait on a waypoint just prior of the theater of operations. Call in the fighters and SEAD escort. The campaign missions are VERY elaborated, lots of things going on at the same time, lots of radio chatter. As for immersion, they make you feel that you are in a real war. The good side is that you are not alone, so you can focus on your specific mission. The link below is to a post where I explained how to use the escort flights. I hope it can be helpful. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1291531#post1291531 Other than that, it is flying and learning, every time. This is an amazing sim! In this mission there is no SEAD, CAP, or CAS, on the F10 other menu,AWACS are calling out targets, but we have no backup, apart from the rescue chopper, we are on our own, the only solution is to drop payload and head for home, which means the mission never gets completed, has anyone, flown this mission and won? any tips would be appreciated, thanks in advance.
Longbow116 Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 hmm, due to mission briefing there should be fighter cover and Sead flight on standby. Will fly this mission on this weekend.

I spammed the E3 for bogey dope and picture, the bandits were far far away and at 18k-20-ish k, mostly flanking and hot, but never did get a warning on the RWR of a 29. I attached my track with an edited waypoint naming and altitude. Both times I flew it, I was shot by ground fire. The only threats I encountered were like 6 SA-3's, and the SEAD took care of them. Here is also the SEAD hook on my TGP. They do work. In the first time trial, a fat albert prevented my elements (and more exclusively me) from taxiing. I decided to get on the curb and bypass him to the tarmac, only to find my left gear struck and can't retract. Then I changed the mission to start on runway instead of a cold ramp start. GregP Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 Where do you get the shore campaign? Is it supposed to be in the sim? I've only got 1 campaign... They were part of the retail game before 1.1.0.9 but were then removed. Still available here though: http://files.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/84753/
