just a few ideas !!!

1. For better immersion in the game is there any chance that we could have more radio commands and the possibilty of being able to communicate with other flights and the likes of FAC,s and Battle Group Commanders on the ground , this would give the game more realism I.E. co-ordinating CAS/Strike missions with ground units or Airborne FACS

2.Flyable fast jets that can preform the above such as Mig 27, Jaguar, Harrier. I appreciate that ED is geared towards the Russian market and the Mig 27 would be more reasonable due to already being in the game, but im sure many peolple would like the latter two as it would be something different ( i dont think there is a Jaguar flight sim, not counting MS 2004) many brits play this game and would like the Jaguar (see lomac wish list

These are just a few ideas and i appreciate peoples points of view on the above

thanks for reading

Good suggestions. We all hope that ED will give the comms/AI a higher priority in the future. Since the community has asked for improvements in that area very often and vocal in the past, I think there is a fair chance that ED will look deeper into it in the future F-16/MiG-29 sim. Since the ( possible ) comming Tank Killers sim will concentrate even more on a CAS envoirment, perhaps ED will implement FACs already there, would be logical at least. How the comming Lock On 1.2 addon will improve the comms/AI remains open, but I would expect only small improvements.

Please note that the above is not official and is my own speculation. EDs plans after 1.2 remain subject to change anyway.

About the Jaguar. I think this would be a very fine choice for a future sim and I am sure many will agree with this. Unfortunatly chances are very slimm for that plane since by current plans ED has their hands full for the next few years. First the Ka-50 for Lock On, then the AH-64 and high fidelity A-10 for Tank Killers, then the F-16 and MiG-29 for the next big project. But plans tend to change and who knows...

FAC is a must really for a sim modelling the A-10 and Su-25. Even a glorified 'attack my target'-command that can be given to aircraft other than your wingmen (like in F4AF apparently) would be a big step in the right direction.

These aircraft would be pre-set to check in with the FAC ('check in with FAC' waypoint in the editor that is linked to a specific FAC-aircraft much like an attack waypoint can be associated with a target) when building a mission. If the FAC is a player aircraft he would gain some limited control over them once they check in, much like he has with his wingmen, with commands like 'attack my target', 'attack airdefences', 'return to base' etc. This should work reasonably well with human/AI FACs and AI CAS aircraft.

The hard part would be designing something usefull for a situation where the player is flying the attack aircraft. How is the AI going to give the player sensible commands? On the A-10 the desired target could be marked with a TISL (?) diamond, but on the Su-25? Smoke?

I sure hope ED can introduce something like this with Tank Killers at the latest :) It would make LOMAC the best CAS sim by far.

Man, I love this guy!!! Rep inbound!!

I totally agree on the comms, but even more so on the Jaguar.

Here's some pics for ya . . .

I am very positive on this Jaguar idea also. If you see how well ED models the classic analog instruments of Su-25 and Mig-29, I guess adding aircraft like Jaguar, F-5E, Mig-27 and Su-17 would be very nice.

Jaguar would be an excellent aircraft for an AFM: although also rather underpowered, certainly in the French version, it has definitely more punch than A-10A and Su-25T!

If they then would add clickable cockpit technology (and some extra analog cockpit noices), this would really be a dream!

A GR Mk3. version would be nice. At least it has one MFD, LGBs and the AIM-132 ASRAAM with HMS ability. So for a bomber it would be well able to look after its self in the dogfight arena. But thats not going to happen now is it?

The Indian version can also use anti ship missiles with it's Elta 2032 radar.

ermm... was that thing wrecked or something?

LOL, no chewing gum or string visible? Then it's in A1 condition ;)

Good ideas. But I'd be actually happy if ED upgrades existing planes to AFM.

Ok FAC can be done already with lockon by using Attack my target command for AI aircraft while locking it up with the diamond on the CCRP for bombs on A-10. Watch the training track for A-10.

FAC is done in AF by using the A/G radar and delegating flights to attack my target. Sure enough the FAC checks in with the AWACs and so do the On-call CAS flights. The On-call CAS flights then check in with the FAC and attack which ever target is assigned to them. If you're flying on-call CAS in AF then you are given a rough verbal direction and distance and use padlock view to visualise the targets location. In lockon you can technically already do this with human players and doing as you mentioned marking them with smoke. I think that maybe future versions or new flight sims by ED would probably have more realistic FAC since they have just released an FAC sim thats lockon based to the military market. I think the idea of being able to communicate with other flights of other aircraft types is a good one. Especially if you're doing FAC in an A-10 for a flight of F-16s. Fingers crossed, maybe Tank Kilers might feature some of this stuff.

Does this work for AI aircraft other than your own wingmen? If so that's pretty nice already, I wasn't aware of this! I'll make sure to watch that track as soon as I can.

Sounds broadly similar to EECH, if you give an 'attack my target' command in that sim the call automatically includes bearing and range to your current target IIRC.

The caveat is that this FAC sim is probably geared towards human FACs communicating with human strike aircraft - this is something that requires little to no changes compared to what we already have in LOMAC. I sure hope they will feel compelled to expand on this to include AI units, though.

Yes it works, but I would like it if they also engaged targets marked with smoke.

Yes, FC check the training tracks for A-10. Ironhand gives a tutorial in attacking a AAA unit while your wingman hits a 2nd target.
