mvsgas Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 thanks To whom it may concern, I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that. Thank you for you patience. Many people don't want the truth, they want constant reassurance that whatever misconception/fallacies they believe in are true..

Agg Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 People here in Europe tend to complain when cones, ropes and barriers around aircraft at shows get in their pictures, but I certainly prefer that to this... "Oh, here's a picture of an A-10 and 342 people, I dont know, sitting underneath the wings, their lawn chairs, hamburgers, dogs, cats and whatnot."
_Heater_ Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 very nice pics m8, thanks for the sharing ;) Simulatori: DCS A-10C II Warthog - DCS F/A-18C Hornet - DCS F-16C - VRS F/A-18E - HOTAS: TM Warthog - Cougar \ HP Reverb G2 \ WinWing Panels Tally: I see the degenerate commie who wants to ruin our day.
RoaringBones Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 Very nice indeed :D. "Oh, here's a picture of an A-10 and 342 people, I dont know, sitting underneath the wings, their lawn chairs, hamburgers, dogs, cats and whatnot." There is a good reason for that ;)...You have any idea how hot it gets this time of year?
Agg Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 Yes, I can understand that people prefer sitting in the shade, I do as well, but from what Ive seen this appears to be the norm at airshows in the US, no barriers, people everywhere. With all the safety regulations being enforced in the states Im surprised that they let people this close to their combat aircraft. And it must be a pain in the ass for the crews as well, I certainly would'nt want to climb into and fly an aircraft that had been standing in the middle of a crowd for the weekend without a thorough inspection. You never know what people might do, hot doq wrappers in the air intake, gum in the seat, and someone took the stick as a souvenir :P

Also remember that there are a lot of military police and members at these airshows. They may not all be in uniform, but believe me they are there and more then you know it. i7-4820k @ 3.7, Windows 7 64-bit, 16GB 1866mhz EVGA GTX 970 2GB, 256GB SSD, 500GB WD, TM Warthog, TM Cougar MFD's, Saitek Combat Pedals, TrackIR 5, G15 keyboard, 55" 4K LED
Agg Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 Im sure they do get an inspection before they fly off, but I would assume that the inspection of an aircraft that has had people climbing all over if all weekend would have to be a lot more thorough than for an aircraft that has been sitting behind barriers, that's all.
Snoopy Posted May 3, 2012 Author Posted May 3, 2012 As long as they have someone that knows the ACFT it'll get a good inspection...now if it's only Transit Alert that is inspecting/launching out the jets...well that is another story. v303d Fighter Group Discord | Virtual 303d Fighter Group Website

I will have to dig up pictures that I took when they had military hardware all over the mall area in Washington, D.C. after Desert Storm. It makes the airshows held at an actual airfield look tightly controlled. Granted this was pre-911.
