I know this is intended to be dirt or something but does every ground unit have to emit a strange grey fog behind it at all times? Wouldn't dirt be brown anyway?

Not sure why a game based on realism would add this in.

that's the dust trail. are you suggesting they change it to tan color? i agree. however you might want to frame your question differently otherwise people don't know what you're talking about.

this is really a suggestion to change the color of dust trail effect of off road vehicles

It's not there "all the time" only when vehicles move on dirt! Which is realistic and the best chance to spot them in really life or in the sim.

When they drive on a road there is no dust trail (like in real life).

I Agree that the color and appearance could benefit from a little enhancement

Agreed on that this effect a bit unrealistic. What would be nice if we had three different effects. The first will be the engine exhaust gas. Many old russian vehicles produce thremendus smoke while moving. This effect should be on whenever a vehicle is moving. Would be cool if more exhaust were produced when a vehicle is accelerating.

The second should be the dust. Preferably based on landtype and weather. Lets say when raining there shouldn't be dust at all, a little mud would be nice but i think it would be too much to ask.

The third will be snow dust in winter.
