secret1962 Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 DCS world and modules patches I am wondering how patches will be for both world and modules. I thought on having automatic updates for world or modules (I mean, when you start DCS world, a message appears and asks you if you want to update. If you accept, it'll automatically update the files directly). Would be a little tricky if you had to download a patch for world and then a patch/es for the module/s. Can we have info about it ?

I am sure they will be the same as they are now. A patch is announced/released, you download it, and then you install it. If there is more than one, then rinse and repeat. Blaze Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 Patches should be easier from here on. If any updates are made to the engine or World, a patch would be made for that, just one, and it would reflect on all of the installed modules in the Core. Unlike before, where separate patches had to be made for each product to update them all to the current standard. For each module, same thing. A patch would focus just on the module itself, contained all in its folder in "Mods". OTA (over the air) updates do seem like a nice idea, maybe on the wishlist for future upgrades to the CORE. Remember it's still new. :) i7 7700K | 32GB RAM | GTX 1080Ti | Rift CV1 | TM Warthog | Win 10 "There will always be people with a false sense of entitlement. You can want it, you can ask for it, but you don't automatically deserve it. "

This is not chit chat, this is an answear about DCS world patches with modules, you just moved it in the wrong place and merged it with the wrong topic. Can you please move it back as a separated thread ? Edited May 4, 2012 by secret1962

secret1962 Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 (edited) 1.3. - Administrative actions against forum members are not subject to public discussion. If you feel an action against you was unjust or otherwise inappropriate, please use the Private Messaging (PM) system to appeal the action to other forum staff members or the forum administrator. I understood it as warnings, restrictions and bans. Well, if it's about threads too, sorry. 3.1. - Administrative action refers to the system of warnings and bans utilized on this forum as disciplinary actions against members in violation of the above rules. A Warning Bar is used to track the members’ warning level. The warning level and duration for any single violation is at the discretion of the forum staff, but are generally based on the severity and number of prior violations. Upon reaching 100%, a user is subject to a temporary ban, the duration for which is likewise at the discretion of the forum staff. I am just following the rules... END of OT. Since we can't receive info about it, I don't know what to say. I'll wait for the patches then. Edited May 4, 2012 by secret1962
