Wanna know whats even worse? I bought it Thursday too, managed to get it activated, recorded one video, and my motherboard fried an hour later, now I have to build a whole new rig to fly again. Just a taste of epicness, and now its all gone :(

Y'know what's even worse than that? I bought it two thursdays ago, right when it came out, and haven't had time to try it out yet! Life as a flight instructor here got way more busy now that the weather here is getting better.

Plus I just bought a new motorcycle. :P

Why not - you even can switch a privatly owned Satelite between this two if you like :D !

@RogueRunner

But much simpler when you have a already working I-net in your hands (Smart-Phone or the thing you use to post here in the forum) :

Use The Offline activation > QuickstartGuide page 4

http://en.wiki.eagle.ru/w/images/3/38/DCS_A-10C_QuickStart_Guide.pdf

or in the install path of a previously owed DCS product e.g. ...\Eagle Dynamics\DCS A-10C\Doc

This means the System on which the Software is running don't needs a connection to the web.

1. Activation via E-mail. Using this activation, you will be provided a hardware

code that can be sent to the provided e-mail address for activation.

2. Activation via ProActive Web-site. A hardware code will be entered into the

ProActive Web-site for activation.

Before you go on-line you just have to note your hardware-code starforce is generating for your off line-system using your activation-key.

Whole activation process takes 3-min.

The note at the download says: requires internet activation

AN INTERNET CONNECTION IS REQUIRED FOR MULTIPLAYER INCLUDING LAN PLAY

Recommended system requirements: Operating system 64-bit: Windows Vista and 7; Processor: CPU: Core 2 Duo E8400, AMD Phenom X3 8750 or better; Memory: 4GB; Hard disk space: 7 GB; Video: Shader 3.0 or better; 896MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX260 DirectX 9.0c or better; Sound: DirectX 9.0c - compatible; DirectX?: 9.0C; requires internet activation

But it don't says : "The system on which you install requires internet activation" ;) Edited by PeterP

You win megalol.gif wink.gif

My DSL is still down sad.gif I cannot do the cell phone thing, no wifi on my desktop and tried a 3G modem that refused to stay connected. I'm screwed till they fix my line it seems cry.gif

When we had Hurricane Irene here, our phone lines were down just one day, from the felled trees on our block in my little city. I have land-line telephone and my DSL with what used to be Ma Bell forever, until they deregulated and busted it up. But I still have their phone lines, though upgraded some, but not fiberoptic, yet.

My cable TV was down 2 weeks! And come August I will switch to cable RoadRunner Turbo which will run about 8 times faster. I usually am up in the wee hours, so everybody else is sleeping and the instability of the Internet demand should not effect me too much. I must say, though, DSL is too slow for gaming, but it is always a steady download speed, unlike cable Internet. But our local cable service guys are a tad slow.

My wife wanted me to get a PC and get on the Internet as something to do. I said to her, "What am I going to do with that? The public library is just a few blocks away." I only got the Internet initially to access Delphi's machinist groups. I did not even try online gaming until 5 years later. So my gaming experience is a bit behind the curve compared to you guys.

But if the lines go down again, I can always just read a book. I know, what is a book?

My Navy basic training was so boring I bought a paperback book to read in the dry room at night and it was the one real warm place in our barracks. Books were not allowed and of course I got caught and reprimanded. I was the only guy in my company that aced the tests, so, yeah, it was boring for me.

But even one day off my gaming addictions I get withdrawal symptoms, like cold turkey quitting smoking.

I sympathize with you guys...

I remember calling home to my wife when I was to Gitmo in 1977 by satellite phone. I think 3 minutes was $6 ! We only had the satellite just for a few minutes when it passed over us. She did not like living on base.

Well, helscum promised me a resolution by friday. Lets see if that's going to happen. Going to try the email activation tonight then.

Well, last night, still without DSL ofcourse, I used my iphone's hotspot feature to connect my mac to it and used it's internet sharing over ethernet to activate the P51. Yay!!!!

Very impressed with the initial impression, now I need to unpack my Warthog and put away my Saitek Yoke to fly the Mustang for awhile, meaning my NGX and CRJ (which I also just bought yesterday) will have to be parked for a little while.

And this morning they fixed my line. Apprently a linebreak 600m from my house. Reported the 5th and fixed on the 17th, not bad
