Azazel Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 I've got some spare time this summer and I'd like to learn how start creating 3d objects for DCS. I'm guessing there isn't a simple answer to this one but is there a guide anywhere? Where do I start? What 3d programs are recommended? What are other people using? I cannot afford a six thousand dollar copy of 3d Max so what are my options? Is there a step by step procedure to getting objects in the sim? I realize this is a long learning process, I just need someone to give me a shove in the right direction :helpsmilie: Thx. joey45 Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Unfortanaly the only program with the plugins is 3DS mas. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. joey45 Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 You could probabal make the model in Blender then give it to someone with 3ds max to import it to DCS. ED have not made the plugins for Blender or Softimage mod tool*... or anyother 3D program.. * free version >> http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/pc/item?id=13571257&siteID=123112 The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. aaron886 Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Wow I did not know that exists. Joey is it similar in capacity to 3ds Max insofar as modeling aircraft for flight sims is concerned?
joey45 Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Depends on the game in question. For ED's games...... no. I know some that used it for mods on other games.
