PeterP Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 (edited) Want to get back into MP flying (P-51D 1.1.2.1) after almost a year of absence and want to set up a Mission for a mate and me for tomorrow. Some questions : 1. Is there a simple Idiot-proof TS-3 guide I can share with my mate. 2. who should act as a server, the one that has the better system or connection? - or the best of both? 3. Do you have a list of community driven TS channels I could use tomorrow? Edit: whoever answers something useful according 1,2,3, will get my reputation-points! :) Useful tips beyond what I asked will get also the reputation-points of my mate! Edited May 19, 2012 by PeterP
PeterP Posted May 12, 2012 Author Posted May 12, 2012 (edited) Thanks - So I tested it and I will use the TS-3 SimHQ server. http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3137414.html so you can scratch #1 and #3 from my list. what's about #2 ? Edited May 12, 2012 by PeterP
HiJack Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Not sure what you are asking for in #3 Peter ;) All different TS servers have different channel lists.
PeterP Posted May 12, 2012 Author Posted May 12, 2012  off course I mean #2! BTW: I have right now a server test running "P-51D Free flight test" would be nice if someone can confirm that it shows up in the list - and maybe join for a second.
Kuky Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 ^^^^ For me it doesn't show in the list PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
Kuky Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 hm, just to check... are we talking DCS World MP server? If yes, then still no PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
Kuky Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 By the way best have host who has best system and connection (upload bandwidth) but with 2 people only connection will be same (either can host), still better have host with better PC PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
PeterP Posted May 12, 2012 Author Posted May 12, 2012 Yes DCS world 1.1.2.1.... "PeterP server test" hmm... maybe connect via IP: 10.173.31.56
Kuky Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 still not in the list, did you enable port forwrding in your router... you have to forward port 10308 for both TCP and UDP (incomming and outgoing) PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
PeterP Posted May 12, 2012 Author Posted May 12, 2012 I have No Router in between, all ports open. Thanks anyway! Restarting server now ...
Kuky Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 (edited) Sorry, I said router as I have modem/router, if you want to host, port forwarding is required to be set for any modem (or modem/router), anyone connecting to server doesn't need to port forward Edited May 12, 2012 by Kuky 1 PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
PeterP Posted May 12, 2012 Author Posted May 12, 2012 Everything is fine at my side - but no luck to host.... Was able to host servers 1 year ago without problem. Changed my ISP a half year ago - seems I have to look up what kind of contract I have signed.... I hope my mate is able to Host a server - joining is no problem for me.
Kuky Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 (edited) hm... could be silly question but are you picking INTERNET from the Server Type field ... default is LAN, so if you don't change it before you make a server no one will see your server in the MP list. Other than that, it's really only port forwarding that you need to enable (TCP/UDP port 10308 ) to be able to host. Do you possibly have firewall enabled somewhere in software (windows) or modem settings... that could be blocking it also Edited May 12, 2012 by Kuky PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
PeterP Posted May 12, 2012 Author Posted May 12, 2012 (edited) You must know me slightly now...;) When I have a problem - I try as long as I know that there isn't something I can do about it. And I double checked everything - It really seems that my ISP has forbidden me to create game-servers. I tried also with Portal without no luck also on the laptop. Things I could easily do one year ago (and I didn't changed my system in this period). But Thanks again for your suggestions ... and now starts the F1-Q3... - Wishing Webber luck tomorrow. Kuky Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 If your ISP is now allowing you to host that just blows. Seems you elimiated anything that could be on your end... wish you luck to sort it out if its your ISP PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR

PeterP Posted May 12, 2012 Author Posted May 12, 2012 ..all quadruple checked! and doing once again.... Well, days like this make me thirsty!
Panzertard Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 So true. But for the heck of it, grab a beer and add 10309 TCP+UDP to the forwarding list to. I've had that issue once, never know why 10309 was used back with BS 1.02 or something - but it was (used wireshark). If all attempts fails - get wireshark, run a trace and I'll analyze it for you.
