As far as black shark 2 being a patch, its not. Its an upgrade that you have to purchase. You have two options, you can either purchase the Black Shark standalone version, or you can buy black shark 2 upgrade. The upgrade needs to have black shark 1 installed on your machine prior to installation.

When you go to the downloads page, you must download all of the files, there are typically about 4 of them. Once they are downloaded, you need to put all of the files into a folder before running the .exe file.

Something to keep in mind, DCS is releasing a new program called DCS world which is free. Currently, only the standalone version works in it. You can find DCS world under the P-51 module. Download all of the files that say "world." You do not need to download the p51 module. Then, you only need to install the Black Shark standalone specific module which is typically only about 200 megs. I will leave it at that so its not any more confusing. Any more questions, ask away.

just so you know you wont be able to participate in the DCS World; BS2 module beta if you just buy the upgrade.

you will need the full BS2 standalone version to do this currently "ATM" :joystick:

Download/leave them all in one folder and just install!

(when you download the DCS:World BS2 - install first DCS:World than BS2)

-when you are done you can uninstall BS1. as BS2 is a complete new install.

Just stop thinking about BS2 as addon - handle it like a complete new program at your system.

And make sure you also visit this link when done:

i have BS1 so all i need is BS2 standalone. i'm guess that bc2 will dectect bs1 and install itself over bs1(upgrade)

If you have BS1 installed - you just need the Upgrade version of BS2 - BS2 (upgrade) will detect your installed BS1 when installing.

BS2 does NOT install over BS1 - it is separate - it just checks that BS1 is there for the Upgrade version licence.

If you get the BS2 full version you can ignore BS1 completely.

No! it has 4 files!

If you want to upgrade frpm BS 1.0 to BS2 1.1.1.1

You will have to download this:

BS2 1.1.1.1 standalone installer

Software

Download Instructions

Installation Instructions

Activation Instructions

An important notice on Black Shark 2 patch 1.1.1.1 installation. There are 4 different installers:

For owners of BS2 standalone version:

BS2 1.1.1.1 standalone installer

BS2 1.1.1.0 to BS2 1.1.1.1 patch

For owners of BS2 upgrade version:

BS1 1.0 to BS2 1.1.1.1 upgrade

BS2 1.1.1.0 to BS2 1.1.1.1 patch

And when you want to try the Beta 1.1.2.1 for DCS world you have to go to this same page at the bottom.

But you must install DCS:World beforhand (included in the P-51D download)

Please read the red letters.
