Sceptre Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 (edited) Hi all, I am making a mission where I need to have to have the chopper in a FOB without a FARP at the start so I can do the startup. How do you use the ME to place the Ka-50 anywhere at the start of a mission? I select start from ramp but it just beams me to the nearest airbase or FARP. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. ShuRugal Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 starting at farp is not what makes you start hot (otherwise you would always start hot in MP, and the campaign mission where you have to scramble start under fire would not work)
STP Dragon Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 You can not place a Ka-50 to the field on the ground. You always need a airport or FARP. Sceptre Posted June 4, 2012 Author Posted June 4, 2012 Aww heck. Thanks for clarifying that Dragon. PS: I am playing your free flight training mission right now and loving it! PhoenixBvo Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 Doesn't using the "prepare mission" allow you to setup everything in-sim and then exit at the point the mission should start? I imagine it should be possible to fly the Shark to the field, land it, shut it down and then exit the "prepare mission" phase... JG14_Smil Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 no. Prepare mission is just for setting up the ABRIS. Perhaps you can place a FARP and hide it? It has been a long time since I worked with BS2 mission editor.

It has been a long time since I worked with BS2 mission editor. That only hides it in the ME. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. seikdel Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 I tried changing the coordinates in the mission file itself (via notepad2) for a ramp start Shark, but the sim still puts me right back onto the nearest ramp, so that won't work either =(
Sceptre Posted June 6, 2012 Author Posted June 6, 2012 It would be good if you could place a logic or something to trick it into thinking there is a FARP........... RTX 2070 8GB | 32GB DDR4 2666 RAM | AMD Ryzen 5 3600 4.2Ghz | Asrock X570 | CH Fighterstick/Pro Throttle | TM MFDs | TrackIR 5
PhoenixBvo Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 It would be good if you could place a logic or something to trick it into thinking there is a FARP........... Exactly, we need to find the place where you can add FARP coords without actually adding a FARP model, if there is such a list...
