159th_Viper Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 ....i wont use the trustmaster HOTAS.... Then you need to ask what is second-best. Irrespective of platform/SIM/module, the HOTAS Warthog is the most precise flightstick on the market at present. Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career? PeterP Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 (edited) so do any of you know a good joystick that fit the P51D and can do what i need, both need stick and trottle I really don't know what you are really looking for , as you didn't wrote anything clearly about the specifications you need/want. If the price is not a factor for you - get on of the controllers pictured above. But in most cases you can't bypass the need to build something your own to make them close "perfect". maybe you have to try to do similar what I have done: IMHO: As FFB and a extension is a "must-have" to get as real as you can in front of a "desktop-simulator". Have a look at this to know what I'm talking of: Two MS FFB2 with Cougar Grip My joystick now uses hall-sensors for the Y/Z axis input and is driven by the motors of two MS-FFB2 controllers and I can change the grip >>> DIY P-51D style grip for HOTAS Cougar Here is a vid that shows the stick with the P-51 grip in motion: Visit this thread to get some info why I made this video:http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1472165#post1472165 And look this too to know what kind of benefits FFB bring you in DCS with Fixed-wing-planes beside changing the forces on the controls during flight: BTW: in 1.1.2.1 is FFB for P-51D not implemented up to now - but it is confirmed that it will be in the final release. And here is my concept for a multi-purpose "throttlequadrant" that fits my needs for a wide range of simulated aircraft's: >>> http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=86015 controller/axis set-up for P-51D: I did build the above because: A) lack of money B) even if I had the money to spend - there aren't controllers that fit really "my" needs on the market - and it would be always a compromise. - so I started investigating over a long process how to build my own. I can say now that I'm very happy now with this set-up and it will serve me well for every upcoming DCS-module. - if this got you hooked - you may also interested in this concept of force-trim rudders I'm planing to do in "near" future: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1470471#post1470471 Edited June 25, 2012 by PeterP
