jib Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Ok I haven't installed Combined Arms yet because I'm still at work. The manual says "In Combined Arms, you have the option to only display enemy units that have first been detected by friendly units. Units not detected will not be displayed on the F10 map. After a contact on an enemy unit has been lost, its icon will be removed from the F10 map. In order to enable this "Fog of War", you must set your F10 Viewing Options to "Fog of War" from the Gameplay tab." It would be good if instead of disappearing the unit icon just grayed out or somthing, so that anyone joining later or who wasn't looking at the map would know that intel on the last know position of units. This happens in some RTS games and it works well. Mods I use: KA-50 JTAC - Better Fire and Smoke - Unchain Rudder from trim KA50 - Sim FFB for G940 - Beczl Rocket Pods Updated! Processor: Intel Q6600 @ 3.00GHz GPU: GeForce MSI RTX 2060 6GB RAM: Crucial 8GB DDR2 HDD: 1TBGB Crucial SSD OS: Windows 10, 64-bit Peripherals: Logitech G940 Hotas, TrackiR 5, Voice Activated commands , Sharkoon 5.1 headset. ,Touch Control for iPad, JoyToKey
lobo Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Yeah, I like your idea of greying out the icon to indicate "last known position" of unit. Lobo's DCS A-10C Normal Checklist & Quick Reference Handbook current version 8D available here: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/172905/
Nate--IRL-- Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 AFAIK it is on the wishlist - no idea if or when it might be implemented. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
OutOnTheOP Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 even better, do it like the real FBCB2/ BFT: have units gradually fade out over time, so you can visually estimate how long it's been since last spotted.
