Mule Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 I have been away from anything DCS for quite awhile now. I come back and there is all sorts going on. It's like there has been a massive party going on and i walk in the middle of it very dazed and bewildered. So do i download DCS World and have to delete my current A-10C installation and start again so it all ties in? I bought Black Shark when it first came out now there is version 2 do i have to pay for that? Combined Arms looks great! :) Can anyone help a returning old/new pilot again? Fighter Pilot Podcast.
Weltensegler Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 (edited) There are tons of threads with answers to that question (no bitching ! just meant as a hint) - You can maintain all you standalone versions and keep flying them! - DCS world is the new core module and to fly your modules in DCS W you install a separate/different module for each into DCS W http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?end_pos=136&scr=products&lang=en - not sure if it is fixed by now (better search BS section of forum) but until recently only BS 2 worked with DCS W. NOT BS 1 + BS2 upgrade. But again might be fixed by now. So yes you have to pay for BS 2 or the upgrade from BS 1 :) Edited July 10, 2012 by Weltensegler 4790K@4,6Ghz | EVGA Z97 Classified | 32GB @ 2400Mhz | Titan X hydro copper| SSD 850 PRO ____________________________________ Moments in DCS: --> https://www.youtube.com/user/weltensegLA --> WELD's cockpit: --> http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=92274

Dejjvid Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 No use in keeping the old stand alone versions now. Ka-50 and A-10C is released for World now, so no more beta. Just P-51 and CA that's still in the beta cycle. So download world, and install the modules you've bought. Su-25 is free. And BS1 doesn't work with World, so you have to upgrade it to BS2. Brisse Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 No use in keeping the old stand alone versions now. Ka-50 and A-10C is released for World now, so no more beta. I've seen some new bugs in DCS:W 1.2.0 and it's modules. Some of them are pretty nasty. Better not uninstall the old ones before trying 1.2.0 for a few days at least. Example: Every time I get into a A-10C or P51D the mouse and clickable cockpit is broken and I must alt-tab to desktop and then back inte sim to make it work. This is only one of many anoying things in 1.2.0 I like the way DCS is going and can't wait for these bugs to be fixed. 1.2.0 fixed many nasty bugs but also introduced some new ones.
Nate--IRL-- Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 1.2.0 fixed many nasty bugs but also introduced some new ones. And of course folks, all new bugs are free of charge. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
metalnwood Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 If you want to spring the $$$ for the full BS2 then do that rather than an upgrade, check other threads for why this is beneficial.
Mule Posted July 11, 2012 Author Posted July 11, 2012 Thanks for the tips. More clear now cheers. Fighter Pilot Podcast.
