VH-Rock Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Hey guys, Firstly I would like to say: Fantastic work on the new patch. I, among many others, really appreciate the effort you guys are going to. I'm having a small issue with the sound. Start up is fine, but when I close my canopy I loose the sound. Sound comes back when the mission is ended and the menu loads. Any ideas? DDSSTT Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Its not just closing the canopy for me, its any movement what so ever of the canopy I loose sound. But I love the shaking! Also it seems a lot louder then before..? Or is it just me? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] http://www.csg-2.net/
VH-Rock Posted July 10, 2012 Author Posted July 10, 2012 Appears to be an inconsistent error. Just done another flight with no problems at all. Virtual Horsemen - Right Wing (P-51) - 2008... Virtual Ultimate Fighters - Lead (P-47) - 2020...
Nate--IRL-- Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Hmm interesting this could relate to something else we saw in testing - if you could - try to save a track of it the next time, and then check the track to see if it happens again in the track. Also when it does occur, try flying at the lowest MP to let the engine cool, then throttle forward to heat up the engine. IIRC this maybe related to the Radiators opening and closing, but it does not happen in every instance the sim is loaded. MotoX Racer Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 I had the same thing happen to me. I tried exiting and loading the track to see if the bug was still there and it is. I tried reloading the flight from scratch and then again with the temperature at 25 C instead of -5 and still no joy. In case it is related to the radiators I took the radiator controls off automatic and flew around Batumi trying with the engine hot and cool and it still does it.Canopy Audio.trk [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
lothar29 Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Hi Guys It is the first time I write in the DCS Forum I wanted to report this Bug in the video. IvanK Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 (edited) Similar issue with sound. Any time I try to open or close the canopy the engine sounds disappear and remain off for about 2 seconds until after canopy operation and its sound stops. Canopy sound is very loud ... too loud I think. Otherthan that so far so good. Edited July 11, 2012 by IvanK
Nate--IRL-- Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Hmm ok I'll look into it. It sounds very much like a similar bug to something else we've experienced. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
IvanK Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 As posted in a separate thread canopy Open and Close Keybindings are reversed I mention here as well since we are talking about canopys.
IvanK Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 Touchdown sound on "Greaser" landings is almost imperceptible a slightly louder Squeak would enhance the immersion.
DDSSTT Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 I have an update... Since I got my Logitech G940 in the mail today and got it up and running I have not experienced the Canopy Sound bug. I was using the Saitek X52 Pro before and it happened everytime. So I hooked back up my Saitek X52 Pro and it happened again. I am unsure why it only effects the X52 and not the G940 on my PC. MotoX Racer Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 That is weird, but I'm running the Logitech Extreme 3D and I have flown some missions where it is not bugged and others where it is. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
DDSSTT Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 well, nevermind... I didn't have any issues for 5 hours flying and just now its back. Same sound bug with my new G940.. so, poop. :( [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] http://www.csg-2.net/
Runibl Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 (edited) I have the same sound bug with the canopy. Any movement of the canopy handle will override any other sound, then return to normal about 2 seconds after stop using the handle. Exactly as it is in this video posted earlier. Does not seem to happen in all missions, all the time. But so far without fail, always in the Instant Action mission "Cold Start Vaziani". Edit: Not without fail anymore, same config, last time started her up, rolled forward a bit. Then put parking brakes on (which i forgot), and tested the canopy. This time it sounded fine, no problem. DDSSTT Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Hey ED Testers, I hope this helps narrow down the search for this Canopy Sound Bug. As I stated last night I noticed I was not having the sound bug when I installed my new G940 and I did when I was using my Saitek but it came back after I switched back over. Well, when I first started flying with my new joystick I was creating a mission in the Mission Editor flying a P-51 with a "Task" of "Nothing" and did not experience the Bug. Late that night I felt I was comfortable with the Force Feedback and switched the Mission "Task" to "CAS" to try my hand at rockets and bombs. The Sound Bug then re-appeared. Just now I ran a quick test in the ME with my P-51 in each "Task" with a "Takeoff from Runway" and found I only had the Sound bug on "Tasks - AFAC, CAS, Ground Attack". At Batumi changing nothing else from the default I also experienced some weird throttle up when I had my throttle set to Zero on a few but did not take notes of which ones. It was only like 3 different Tasks. Happy Flying [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] http://www.csg-2.net/
IvanK Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 I dont get the Canopy Sound bug On line. Same with the Mouse Focus bug. No requirement to ALT TAB when On line.
Ali Fish Posted July 28, 2012 Posted July 28, 2012 so yesterday i moved the sound slider bars, and suffer from sound cutting out upon activation of the cockpit moving sound. what i think ive found out is that if the cockpit slider bar is higher than the world bar then this bug occurs. i think. seems that whatever slider bar affects the cockpit moving sound is causing the issue imo.
