A new graphics option in A-10 1.2.0

What does checking this do?

It disables Windows Aero (windows transparency). You can also accomplish this by disabling desktop composition in the executable's compatibility settings menu.

Having that checked frees up a little video ram, as the windows aero desktop in Win 7 and Vista, uses a little video ram for displaying the desktop, and things like widgets, etc.

One thing I have found, if I have that checked, initially my mouse does not work properly in the sim - I have to alt-tab out of the sim then alt-tab back in, to get my mouse working appropriately in the sim.

I have unchecked that option, and do not have this issue any more. My GTX 560 Ti vid card has 1.5gb of vram, so hopefully will not cause me any graphics performance having this disabled.

Aha! I have been having the same mouse problem. I'll try that fix. Thanks

1.2.0

Others have reported it as well.

I am only running one video card - EVGA GTX 560 Ti.

I am though running two monitors, though I only display the sim on one.

Yeah , Ive had that mouse issue too ..... so you suggest unticking the Disable Aero Interface button ?

That did it for me so far.

I've had this mouse problem too. The pointer still works but the hover/click coordinates are offset a bit and doesn't correspond to what is displayed (it's probably using the wrong resolution in the calculation, which is reset after alt-tab).

Also, if you use "icontrol DCS" you can check the disable aero interface check box and you won't have the alt tab in and out issue. Seem like its a glitch between going from the menu and when it both loads the 3D environment and disables the aero interface.
