SharpeXB Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 A new graphics option in A-10 1.2.0 What does checking this do? i9-14900KS | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO | 64GB DDR5 5600MHz | iCUE H150i Liquid CPU Cooler | ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4090 OC | Windows 11 Home | 2TB Samsung 980 PRO NVMe | Corsair RM1000x | LG 48GQ900-B 4K OLED Monitor | CH Fighterstick | Ch Pro Throttle | CH Pro Pedals | TrackIR 5
Harzach Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 It disables Windows Aero (windows transparency). You can also accomplish this by disabling desktop composition in the executable's compatibility settings menu.
dburne Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 Having that checked frees up a little video ram, as the windows aero desktop in Win 7 and Vista, uses a little video ram for displaying the desktop, and things like widgets, etc. One thing I have found, if I have that checked, initially my mouse does not work properly in the sim - I have to alt-tab out of the sim then alt-tab back in, to get my mouse working appropriately in the sim. I have unchecked that option, and do not have this issue any more. My GTX 560 Ti vid card has 1.5gb of vram, so hopefully will not cause me any graphics performance having this disabled. I have been having the same mouse problem. I'll try that fix. Thanks Yes, that worked Edited July 14, 2012 by SharpeXB i9-14900KS | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO | 64GB DDR5 5600MHz | iCUE H150i Liquid CPU Cooler | ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4090 OC | Windows 11 Home | 2TB Samsung 980 PRO NVMe | Corsair RM1000x | LG 48GQ900-B 4K OLED Monitor | CH Fighterstick | Ch Pro Throttle | CH Pro Pedals | TrackIR 5

dburne Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 Which version does this D.burnette? And Im assuming since you have dual graphics cards your running multi-monitor setup? 1.2.0 Others have reported it as well. I am only running one video card - EVGA GTX 560 Ti. I am though running two monitors, though I only display the sim on one. andyfoot Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 Been having the same mouse problems, thought it was just me as no one else had reported it. Thanks for the solution, will try it today.
badger66 Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 Yeah , Ive had that mouse issue too ..... so you suggest unticking the Disable Aero Interface button ?
dburne Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 Yeah , Ive had that mouse issue too ..... so you suggest unticking the Disable Aero Interface button ? That did it for me so far. CupOHemlock Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 I had to make sure Aero was not disabled, or my mouse would not work properly AND the desktop Widgets would "bleed" through.
andyfoot Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Disabling the Aero Option (un-ticked) has got my mouse working correctly again.
eurofor Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 I've had this mouse problem too. The pointer still works but the hover/click coordinates are offset a bit and doesn't correspond to what is displayed (it's probably using the wrong resolution in the calculation, which is reset after alt-tab). cabbagebasher1606688228 Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 idk if this is the right thread, but i can use my mouse click in instant mission or in mission editor if im all ready in the air, but if i start on the ground cold and dark. i cant click any thing not even batt switch. any ideas? it used to work but now with new update it dont. thanks
wess24m Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Also, if you use "icontrol DCS" you can check the disable aero interface check box and you won't have the alt tab in and out issue. Seem like its a glitch between going from the menu and when it both loads the 3D environment and disables the aero interface.
