JCamel Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 (edited) Are the controls for the Su-25 the same as for the A-10C under Options or did I screw things up by loading an A-10C controls profile without thinking. I.e. I know some controls on the 2 aircraft will be the same, but now the Su control functions seem to mirror the A-10s, coolie switches etc. Is this the way it's supposed to be? Should all control Actions in the Actions list be a direct copy for both aircraft under OPTIONS>>CONTROLS? EtherealN Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 When you say "loading an A-10C controls profile", do you mean migrating a lua control frile from a previous install - for example from a standalone? If so, then yes, you screwed things up. In this case, rename or delete the Saved Games directory for DCS (while the simulator is turned off), and then start the simulator again to let it re-create proper files. JCamel Posted July 15, 2012 Author Posted July 15, 2012 No I created a profile for A-10C within DCS World and then migrated those to the Su-25 not thinking that they might be different. Where is the Saved games directory? If the telegraph pole takes off after you, it is not a telegraph pole.

JCamel Posted July 15, 2012 Author Posted July 15, 2012 (edited) Hmm, with DCS World, all the DCS stuff is under the Program Files/Eagle Dynamics folder no? I've since re-installed DCS World and the Actions for the Su-25 still mirror those for the A-10C. When you open Options>>Controls in DCS World, should the Actions list column for the Su-25 match those for the A-10C? Could someone answer that? EtherealN Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 If you reinstall and still have your Saved Games folder intact, the problems in that folder will still be there. C:\Users\XXXXXXXXX\Saved Games\DCS Delete or rename that one, then start the simulator again. A new and "clean" version of the contents should now be placed in there. Or as Bignewy indicated, press the Start orb in windows, then press your name (which links to your user account on that computer), and you will find a folder in there named Saved Games. This is the Microsoft-preferred facility towards saving user data (like savegames, configurations etcetera) on Windows 7. The Program Files directory is for program data, not your "user data" such as your savegames etcetera. What do you mean by "Actions list column"? If you mean "should the contents of the configuration screens for Su-25T and A-10C be identical", then the answer is no. There should be a LOT more entries for the A-10C than for the Su-25T. The T-frog does not have HOTAS China, HOTAS DMS etcetera etcetera. If you have such entries for the Su-25T, then you have indeed corrupted the controls, and the solution is to delete the Savedgames folder and let the program create a new one. NOTE: reinstalling is not enough, since the system retains your configuration between installs (intended to let you continue where you are even if you uninstall the simulator for a period of time). JCamel Posted July 15, 2012 Author Posted July 15, 2012 (edited) Okay, I renamed it DCS Old and am trying again. Right that worked. Can I change the folder name back now or will that re-screw everything? Edited July 15, 2012 by JCamel If the telegraph pole takes off after you, it is not a telegraph pole.
JCamel Posted July 15, 2012 Author Posted July 15, 2012 Exhausting but I think I'm there now. All I need to do know is learn how to fly the Grach. If the telegraph pole takes off after you, it is not a telegraph pole.
chokko Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 any chance SU25t can get an additional joystick axis created for wheel brake? i.e. so we dont have to fumble around for W key..if i even remember to fumble around for it :) Sure it could be added to external saitek software, but would be cleaner to have it in game per a10c controls..even if its just a brake on/brake off affair whilst i am on it...axis for throttle (acceleration) and rudder (turning vehicles) in Combined Arms would be nice too. thanks [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Tailgate Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 The SU-25T appears to have very minimal keys mapped by default. Do I need to manually assign keys to the missing actions, or is there an easy way, like importing the keymap fle from FC2? Will that work, or cause problems? Also, I noticed in FC2, there's a TDC box slew in the axis setups, and it appears to be missing in DCSW.
EtherealN Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 or is there an easy way, like importing the keymap fle from FC2? Will that work, or cause problems? It will effectively make all aircraft, probably including the Su-25T, unflyable - unless it just causes World to fail to load. Tailgate Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Ah, nevermind, I don't know what I was looking at before, but all the keys seem to be present for the Su25T now.
