Perhaps same reason why two Sorbitsajas are needed to be working :)

Whats a Sorbitsaja?

There will always be bugs. If everything is a priority nothing is.

Flanker's ECM pod

One cannot work without second one. IIRC one sends other receivers, but I may be wrong what they do exactly.

It can be the same for Frogfoot's ECM pods.

Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D

With air-to-air missiles I get the lock audio signal and get successful kills, but I see no evidence of the aiming jumping to the target as it says in the manual???

If the telegraph pole takes off after you, it is not a telegraph pole.

I think they mean that the missile's seeker will lock on the target, this is not reflected by HUD symbology though.

They could also mean something different though, not sure.

Is the BetAB-500shp supposed to be rocket assisted, or is that an internet misconception? I dropped it and it was parachuted all the way down.

Can targeting pods be auto-slewed to waypoints?

It should be dropped, parachute deployed and after time X (or altitude X not sure) a rocket motor should ignite to drive the bomb into concrete before detonation.

Maybe you released it in the wrong way or to low altitude?

Try dropping it from level flight at 2000 meters altitude.

From the Flaming Cliffs 2 Flight Manual Page 188 (page 200 of the pdf file)

BetAB-500ShP Concrete Piercing Bomb

This special bomb is effective against hardened shelters and concrete runways. It has a parachute and solid propellant rocket motor. First the parachute retards the bomb, giving the aircraft time to egress, and orients the bomb vertically over the target. Then the rocket motor ignites, accelerating the warhead to a speed sufficient to pierce concrete. The bomb has a stronger casing than ordinary high explosive bombs that allows it to be buried into the concrete before detonation. This bomb is best dropped from an altitude of 150 – 1000 meters and airspeed 550 to 1100 km/h.

Didn't notice the question about the TGP.

First off the Skhval isn't a pod as such since its build into the airframe.

(the mercury is a pod mounted under the belly though)

And NO you can not slew the targeting system to a waypoint.

What you CAN do though is slew the Skhval (or mercury, or fantasmagoria) to a point and lock it there and then engage the autopilot using the "A" button.

This will let the AP fly to this point at the altitude you were when you engaged the autopilot.

(works great for CCRP bombing)

One sends and one receives in same hemisphere. So for example, if the left pod receives from the front, the right sends. Opposite for the rear hemisphere (although I think the sorb cone is 60 deg, not whole hemisphere).

Ah. Well I got the rocket working. I was using combat steering with CCRP delivery to attain an exact line but it tends to level the flight out at 2000m, so is this why the bomb is overshooting all the time?

Some odd behaviour. Aircraft moving to one side. Bombs seem to blow off course. Is this wind speed?

Couldn't find wind speed referenced in the flight manual, so how do you know the wind speed? It references wind a lot but nothing else.

Also, I'm trying to get the Shkval to lock onto aircraft hangars, what target size should I be using?

Aircraft hangers? something like 20-30m would do fine i guess. Then again, i usually use the smallest possible setting for all targets i engage.

Not necessarily realistic but it works.

Bomb going of course can be either of two things;

A wind

B aircraft was not in a stable straight and level flight when releasing the bomb.

(thus giving the bomb some inertia in a direction other then towards the target)

To know the wind all you got in the 25T is the mission briefing and ATC when its clearing you for take-off.

(if your flying whit others that fly a ka50 for example they could tell you wind and direction trough either abris or pvi-800 i believe)

I can't get them to lock at any size. Has anyone managed to, if so what size works?
