joey45 Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 the T is TV guided The L is Laser guided The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. "Me, the 13th Duke of Wybourne, here on the ED forums at 3 'o' clock in the morning, with my reputation. Are they mad.." https://ko-fi.com/joey45
JCamel Posted July 17, 2012 Author Posted July 17, 2012 Yes but that wasn't my question? If the telegraph pole takes off after you, it is not a telegraph pole.
Boberro Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 No, TV on stationary only. Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D ಠ_ಠ ツ
pepin1234 Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 I guess not. But the only way to hit with big guided missiles a moving target is avoid the AC. Just set the Shkval square to 25 and keep it moving 2 m ahead the target until 2 sec for impact. I never tested the Kh-29T, but the Kh-29L is tested by me and work. But that is really needless because the Kh-29 missile have just 10 km range. The best option to hit a moving target is with Vikhr ( 10 km range ) and Kh-25ml ( 20 km range, with Shkval square to 25 ). If you like use the Kh-25ml max range ( 20 km ), you must keep less than 10 km distance between the aircraft and the missile launched until impact [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
JCamel Posted July 17, 2012 Author Posted July 17, 2012 I thought the Kh-25ML was only about 11km range wise? If the telegraph pole takes off after you, it is not a telegraph pole.
Boberro Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 Up to 23 if you drop it wisely. Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D ಠ_ಠ ツ
pepin1234 Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 you should override the LA. That is because the Laser system have a useful range of 10 km, so thats why you should keep the distance of 10 km between the missile. Just try. Here is one example of moving target attack, but without override. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
JCamel Posted July 17, 2012 Author Posted July 17, 2012 (edited) Ah, so you launch it and then lock the target later. Cunning. How do you override the requirement for lock before launch though? How do you override LA? Edited July 17, 2012 by JCamel If the telegraph pole takes off after you, it is not a telegraph pole.
pepin1234 Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 left Alt + w Remember to do that you should know very well all your payload [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

JCamel Posted July 17, 2012 Author Posted July 17, 2012 (edited) left Alt + w Remember to do that you should know very well all your payload Cool. Just tried it now. Launched from 15km at 3500m and direct hit on static target. Edited July 17, 2012 by JCamel If the telegraph pole takes off after you, it is not a telegraph pole.
JCamel Posted July 17, 2012 Author Posted July 17, 2012 20km launch and hit at 12+km on mobile target.Kh25ML - 20km Shot.trk If the telegraph pole takes off after you, it is not a telegraph pole.
pepin1234 Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 all right. You can attack with the Kh-25ml a Tor or a Tunguska. Override and fire am 13 km. You should keep a speed of no more than 340 km/H at the moment of fire, until impact. When you lounche the 25ml at long range with override is so hard hit a Tor or a tunguska because their defense reaction. When is a group of Tors and tunguska you should attack with other Su-25T or use the antiradars missiles. This is when you have the russian air defense. With the USA Air defense is much more easy [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Alfa Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Is it supposed to work? No - not for ground vehicles at least(might work against ships). TV guidance is completely "fire & forget"(no post-launch guidance). It works by taking a snap-shot of the target+background, which is passed on to the missile seeker - the seeker then homes on this picture after launch, so if the target's background changes(as it would with a moving vehicle) then there is no match to home on. With ships however, the sea is a much more uniform background and the seeker may not pick up on minor differenences(e.g. waves) as the ship moves along. JJ
