What are some tips on how to not get shot down by SAMs ?

I have my CMS on, auto usually. Sometimes the jammer is off, can't tell how to switch it on. The switch on the right console or the dash doesn't do it.

The way to dodge the missile is to get it on your 3 or 9 oc and do a u turn?

Avoid them. ;)

If you are trying to dodge them it is probably too late.

For a succesful SEAD/DEAD mission you need to have a solid wingman. (for qualified systems)

One down low, flying NOE, one up high sending targets. Then it's all about grabbing those balls of steel and go for it! :joystick:

In all forms of combat, if you can hit something from where it can't hit you back, you'll never lose, and will usually win (assuming your hits do damage)

Watch your RWR for radar SAMS, and try to stay out of their way if you can. Stay above the engagement envelope for IR SAMS unless you have really good reason to descend. Remember that IR SAM units can be almost invisible.

Use the long range of the maverick missile, and if you're a real cheater like me ;), go to the f10 map view, get the coordinates of the SAM, punch them in, and have fun. For everything else, as dejjvid said, grab it by the sensitive parts ;)
