Spadje Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 (edited) I have 3 monitors setup right now and am needing some ideas on how to configure them or set them up on the desk that I have. Right now the monitors are laid out as so 1680x1050 1920x1080 1680x1050 The 1920x1080 is my main monitor and my Cougar MFCD's will be in today and I have the MFCD's in the Sim extracted to the right monitor. So what are your thoughts on setting these up. I would be able to mount them to a wall if needed or raise them up and stick the smaller ones under the larger one. I would appreciate your thoughts on setting this up or pictures of setups you all have or have seen. ED Team BIGNEWY Posted August 1, 2012 ED Team Posted August 1, 2012 I use a 3 screen setup, in portrait mode. I find portrait better as I have a better view of my cockpit and also on run in to targets you have a better view of threats from the ground. Link in my sig for my pit, its W.I.P at the moment but you will find that, once you start tweaking setups and pits it never stops lol Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Spadje Posted August 1, 2012 Author Posted August 1, 2012 That is an interesting setup. Not sure how I would integrate my Cougar MFCD's in into it. I do really love that view though. PeterP Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 (edited) How big are the monitors (in inch) ? -anyway- If I would have your monitors I would do it like this: All in portrait and the MFDs mounted with sticky Velcro tape on the middle one - or if your 1920x1080 isn't big enough , turn this one in landscape. A) exactly in the corners or B) a little higher like shown here: (pink = MFDs - of course with the exports in them - but I didn't wanted to spend the time to edit this also in the picture)) Tip : Use the fuzzy Velcro on the backside of the MFDs that is inside the monitors - so you can't harm you monitor. Using Velcro will also make sure that you can put them easy on/off. Sticky Velcro: Edited August 1, 2012 by PeterP
Spadje Posted August 1, 2012 Author Posted August 1, 2012 (edited) The 2 1680x1050 are 20inch and the center 1920x1080 is 24inch. Peter that is also interesting....will need to look at some mounts now lol. Snoopy Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Hey Spadje....long time no see my friend :D I don't have the pictures anymore but I did like PeterP said and used velcro, although I didn't up them directly on the screen since I use a touchscreen for helios. Only thing I have is the cougar MFCDs are about half the size of the real MFCDs. v303d Fighter Group Discord | Virtual 303d Fighter Group Website
PeterP Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 have also a look here - this post is about running screens in portrait: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1504090&postcount=9
Spadje Posted August 1, 2012 Author Posted August 1, 2012 Hey Paul, loved the videos you posted the other day. I do like the velcro idea. I am really looking at some wall mounts now, and monoprice.com has some awesome prices on some. I could have the mfd's mounted on the corners of my screens without damaging anything. Now I need to do some measurements when I get home. Great ideas guys keep them coming :) AMD Ryzen 9 3900x, 64GB DDR 4, MSI Ventus 2070 Super, Samsung 970 M.2 NVMe, WD Blue 512GB SSD, TM Warthog, CH Pro Pedals, Acer AH101 WMR
