Supersheep Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 Hi! Does the SU-25T need time at startup to spin up its gyros, align the nav suite or something similar? There's no reference in the manual to this, so I guess power+engines+lights+canopy down is all I need? Thank you! Super- The PVC Pipe Joystick Stand How to thread
Razor5-1 Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 No, electrical power on, engines on then your good to go!
Toadster Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 Be sure to wait for the HSI to stop moving complety (it aligns itself for about 10 seconds after you apply power), or your Navigation Heading will be off by quite a few Degrees... S!
Nate--IRL-- Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 It takes about 3mins for everything to align in the Su-25T IIRC. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading

S! I usually wait just this long. But I have heard it is technically still 'aligning' after these first few seconds, and that you will get more drift. I usually die to quick to care.
Supersheep Posted August 14, 2012 Author Posted August 14, 2012 Ok thank you all. Until now, I didn't bother at all and taxied when the engines were up xD I will be patient in the future. Super- The PVC Pipe Joystick Stand How to thread
